Cancellation refund question

Hi everyone!

Not sure where to post this question so I guess I will start here.

We had a package booked for December and purchased the insurance. Ended up canceling because we became DVC members. When I called to cancel the CM told me my refund would be around $48 instead of the $200 I put down as a deposit because they don't refund insurance.
That's totally fine, and I understand they won't refund the ins, but when I look at my bank account the refund is showing up as $200. It's not pending, it has already posted. I'm confused!
Anyone had this happen?

Very nice! Giving you the full refund was an option for them, they didn't have to do it. I'd consider it pixie dust.

Sweet! That's what I was hoping but I was worried they might pull the money out of my account when they noticed it was the full 200.

Most likely, a supervisor determined that you would get the entire refund since you bought into DVC!

That's what I was thinking.....

We cancelled our late August Disney Cruise back in February, and we got a full $200 refund from the trip insurance as well. According to our TA, we were entitled to a full refund as long as it's not after the 45 day cut off.

I asked about the 45 day cutoff but was told it didn't count for insurance. Hmm! Well I'm not complaining!
