I thought you had until midnight to cancel the next day's ADR. Has that changed? I tried last night around 10:30 to cancel this morning's breakfast ADR and it said I was too close to the reservation time to cancel. Anyone know the policy?

Is it a paid in full ADR? Those typically have a longer cancellation window.

Where are you located?

What was the reservation?

Need more information here.

I am at Disney World. The reservation was at Akerhaus. I tried canceling around 10:30 the night before and it would not let me. It said I had to call the 1-800 number since it was too close to the reservation time. I called the number and they were closed for the night. Not sure if the policy has changed or what happened.

Are you sure of the time? The phone lines don't close until 11PM.

I've found that sometimes the MDE app won't allow me to cancel, but the website will.

The app stops letting you cancel at a certain point and you have to call or go to the reservations desk to cancel. Each time I've had to call to cancel they have said there would be a fee (even though one never appeared).

Is it midnight or 24 hours?
Is what "midnight?"

The cancellation policy for most ADR's is "the day before," which means any time prior to midnight. The reservations phone line is only open until 11PM.

I had trouble canceling an ADR last December. The website would not let me cancel, so I needed to go to the reservations desk. I was glad that I had gone in several days ahead, when we decided we did not want the package. It was a Fantasmic dining package.

I forgot about an ADR for two I had last month and fully expected to receive a cancellation fee, but it never showed up!

I would like to know as well, if the cancellation is 24 hours before the dining time, or 'any time the calendar day before'?
It seems people have had trouble with the calendar day before (before 11pm or midnight).

Also if anyone can tell me, what the the usual check in time frame for your ADR is (considered an on time arrival - not too late, not too early) - let's say the reservation is 6pm - is the window between 5:45pm and 6:05pm without being "outside the arrival window"?

I would say 5:45 - 6:00 because there is no official policy regarding a grace period. We were at a DW restaurant that was running far behind schedule so that evening anyone who was late for their reservation was turned away. I don't know if they were allowing any grace period, but I would rather be a few minutes early, than 5 minutes late and not get seated.

You should try and turn up to your reservation fifteen minutes before. If it's after your reservation time, you could potentially be turned away if the restaurant is really busy and/or running behind.

We were running late once and called Disney Dining, & they said there was a 15 minute grace period. We also showed up 15-20 minutes late for Ohana breakfast last year, & were still graciously seated, even though they're always crazy busy. Unless perhaps if it's Christmas week or Easter week, I wouldn't worry at all about being turned away if you're 5-10 minutes late. Disney wants your money and for you to keep reserving tables with them.

I was a no show at Sci-Fi last week and was charged, even after concierge said it was out of the system. And dined in the resort sit down instead. We had another we decided not to do and went to the check in podium and explained and they fixed it no charge. Some times the no show charge is worth it if you don't want to do it.
