I may have to cancel my trip (we were supposed to leave next Saturday) if my nephew's passport doesn't come in. I booked on the phone through their reservation call center. I know mousesavers says that we can cancel up to 5 days before arrival with no penalty. Does anyone know what the penalty is if I wait until next Friday, just to be on the safe side?

Are you flying out of Canada? You only need a p/p for him if you are flying out of Canada and he is 17+.

Can you cancel your flight at this late date?

I would look at a couple of alternatives:

1) Leave the nephew at home (sounds terrible but)
2) Fly out of the US
3) Drive

The penalty is one night's accomodations unless you have made some different type of reservation arrangements, ie package deals etc.

If your nephew is under 16, and you are flying out of Toronto into Florida, you do need a passport for him. I would call first thing on Monday morning to the passport office (keep trying until you get through, it may take 3 hours)... you can find out status and tell them you need it urgently, the agent may be able to help you. There is a toll-free number available on their website, but start calling even before the office opens to hopefully get through.

As for cancellation, just call Disney CRO for accurate information.

My sister called on Friday and they hadn't even looked at the passport, so I doubt that it will be in. The lady on the phone said that she will e-mail someone to try to get a rush put on it though. I say it's highly unlikely, but still possible, for the passport to make it to PEI by Friday.

:yay: :yay: :yay: The Passport office called my sister on Sunday (They said they are working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week trying to process the passports) and said that they were working on the passports for sometime in January. (My nephew's was dropped off at a Canada Post Service Center on Feb. 2nd due to delays with his fathers information-he's in another province and VERY difficult to get ahold of.) They said they'd try, but there were no guarantees. But it came in today!!! YIPEE!!!  :yay: :yay:
