Cancellation policy for character dining

We're booking a character meal, but in the event our son decides he's terrified of characters, we'd like the option to cancel. What's the policy to cancel breakfast at Surf's Up? I'm on hold right now with Disney dining, but I'm also calling the week before Christmas and they're experiencing a "high volume" of calls. Not sure how long I want to wait!!

24 hours in advance in order to avoid the $10/person cancellation fee.

It might be 1 day but I would go with 24 hours just in case.
 
They were quicker than I thought...they prefer 24 hours, but you're only charged if you cancel the same day or don't show up.
