I've searched the forum for past threads but none seem to address this:
For more information, please refer to the cancellation policy provided in your email confirmation.
https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/dining-reservations/restaurant-reservation-cancellation/

So I looked at my email confirmations:

Credit Card Guarantee
Your Visa ending in xxxx is being used to guarantee your reservation. It will only be charged in the event that your party does not arrive as scheduled. To keep from being charged, please cancel your reservation within the allotted cancellation period.

Then:

Payment and Cancellation Policies
- If applicable, a gratuity will be automatically added for parties of 6 or more.

:confused3

I see no place where I can tell what the cancellation policy is for the ADRs I have already made. Am I missing something? Was I supposed to keep track of something when I was making each reservation that is so secret that there is no way to go back and check what it was?

It is listed right on all of my emails. I just verified. There's another section right under the part you quoted titled Credit Card guarantee. It's very long and titled Guest Policies. The first item says Cancel and explains the cancellation policy for that location (e.g. Cancel within 24 hours or you will be charged $10/person).

Then it's even stated again at the very bottom of the email under Reminders.

My emails have none of that. :confused3

I just checked a recent email I received. You are reading the part that is labeled credit card guarantee and spells out when you will be charged. This is generic so that this is an automatic email and this one section can be used for all reservations.

You need to scroll down further in the email where the instructions to cancel are listed under the labor "Cancel" and also "reminders". This should be towards the end of the email. It has appeared in all of mine.

My emails have none of that. :confused3

I cannot post a picture of my email but will share what you should see when you read through the email:

Dining Confirmation number
Reservation detail: the who, what, and where
Dining party--names and avatar of those dining
Disney Dining Plans accepted (explanation)
Reservation Primary Contact
Special Requests
Credit Card Guarantee that you posted in your OP

Then....

Guest policies:
Restriction/Requirement : talks about dining plan, allowing time for transit, if park admission is required, gravity, etc

General conditions
Requesting a special meal
Online reservations (note special meal requests)
Phone reservations (how to make dietary requests)
At the restaurant (more on dietary restrictions)
CANCEL (specific details on deadline)
REMINDERS (more about details on deadline and other reminders)
Need to Make a change? (How to do that.)

ADR "NO-SHOW" CANCELLATION FEES 411:
Most Table Service eateries, both Disney-owned and non-Disney-owned are covered by this policy.

1) The rule says you are charged $10 per person for "no-show" ADR's.
. . . penalty applies when none of the party appears for the ADR
. . . penalty does not apply as long as some guests in party appear
2) The "no-show" penalty procedure
. . . podium person lists ADR as no-show (checks "On Hold" box in computer)
. . . usually after 30-minutes tardiness you are marked as a "no-show"
. . . once listed as "no-show", your name and number of your guests are listed
. . . the computer is reviewed by a manager at the end of the operating day
. . . the eatery manager SOLELY determines whether or not to charge you
. . . if charged, the cost penalty is on your credit/debit card immediately
. . . there are NO exceptions for missing ADR's for such things as late flights
. . . if worried about late/delayed flights, don't book a TS meal until well after arrival time
. . . there are NO exceptons for being delayed due to crowded WDW rides or attractions
. . . it is up to you to plan you day to meet ADR times
3) Exceptions - policy
. . . penalty is not assessed for cancellations made the day before ADR
. . . the ADR must be canceled by 11:59pm the previous day to avoid a no-show penalty
. . . for pre-paid meals, there are 24-48 hour cancel periods (eg. CRT, HDDR, Luau)
4) Exceptions - not policy, and at manager's discretion
. . . cancellations for lunch/dinner made early in the same day
. . . you come to the eatery ANYTIME during the same day and apologize
. . . a few minutes tardy, podium person usually will not denote you as "On Hold"
5) No-Show Penalty Trial Period Backstory
. . . this was done on a trial-basis for 4-weeks in Epcot
. . . cut down no-shows by over 75% at Epcot eateries
. . . Le Cellier cut daily no-shows to 1-page from 2-3 pages
. . . now a policy, as no-shows greatly can reduce eatery revenue
. . . a no-show takes a ressie someone else might have kept
. . . the policy was then trialled for character meals and signature meals
. . . being so successful, it is in effect for almost all table service meals across-the-property

NOTE: During busy periods, there might not be a grace period and late-is-late, and they
might even cancel your ADR. However, whether the ADR was canceled due to tardiness or
not, the penalty fee will not be imposed, as long as you showed at the podium.

When you make the on line reservation you have to agree to the policies before you can reserve it, if you make them by phone the CM reads the policy to you.

There is no way to make a reservation on line wihtout agreeing to the policy so if you didn't read it then it is on you.

The policy is 1 day prior or get charges $10 per person, dinner packages and shows have differrent policies

I'm not sure what made you think I didn't read it. :confused3 Of course I read it but it isn't reasonable to expect a customer to remember the different policies for a dozen different restaurants, six months later. Since the policy is not available online and not printed in the email confirmation, as was the case with us, I was hoping someone could provide us the specifics for the different restaurants.

The policy is 1 day prior
I searched for other threads about this before I posted and they said that different restaurants have different policies. If those threads were wrong and there really is just one policy that is great.

Most TS restaurants have to policy that you have to cancel by 11:59 the night before. That is definitely on the website.

Prepaid meals, packages and shows have different cancellation policies. For example I believe the dessert party has a 5 day cancellation policy.

What restaurant specifically are you asking about?

Trattoria al Forno
Rose & Crown
La Hacienda
Captain's Grille
California Grill
Sanaa
Flying Fish
Kona Café
Todd English's bluezoo

The website does say you can cancel up until 11:59 pm the night before but then it says, "Some restaurants may charge a fee for cancellations or no shows. Each restaurant at Walt Disney World Resort maintains its own cancellation policy, so be sure to check the policy when you are making your reservation." That seems to be saying that yes you can cancel but we still might charge you for a no-show.

With the possible (but unlikely) exception of BlueZoo, everything on your list has an 11:59 cancellation deadline. (Note that the phones aren't open that late, but the web site is.)

If something happens on "day of", call to cancel if you have a genuine reason. Cast Members have been known to waive the penalty for some cases.

I cannot imagine cancelling blueZoo! Actually, the only reservations we are likely to cancel are one of the lunch reservations at resorts: Captain's Grille, Sanaa or Kona Cafe. Do we even need reservations for those?

You have to agree to the policies. It is reasonable to expect and adult to know and understand and keep track of things they agree too. It is called being responsible for your actions.

Maybe next time write it down?

What it it means is that for some restaurants will you will be charged the full amount if you do not make your ADR. Those are the restaurants you have to pre-pay in full for They also have a larger cancellation window. Every restaurant has some kind of penalty if you don't show for your meal, and don't cancel the day before. Post #7 spells it out perfectly.

Another thing to keep in mind is that at times you could be charged a cancellation fee if you arrive late by less than the 30 min window. This happened to us Thursday night. We had a 7p ADR at Via Napoli and checked in at 7:15p. Yesterday, I went in to my cc acct and there was a $40 chg. Went down to concierge and they called for the charges to be taken off so be aware of that as well.

I just attempted to make a reservation for breakfast on Monday for boma. Before I confirmed there was a note that a credit card was required to guarantee the reservation and would be charged I. The event of a no show. It also requires that I certify that I read the guest policies (which I could click and the link and read). If you read the policy provided it lays out the $10 fee if you don't cancel and when you have to cancel by in order to avoid it.
It's really right there if you take the time to look. Andthe whole I shouldn't have to remember things I read six months ago, it all part of being an adult. We agree to contracts. I just bought a sofa with zero interest. If I don't pay it in full in the time allotted, I will be held responsible for all the interest that accumulated over the 18 months I had to pay it off. I am responsible for reading and remembering the terms and conditions of what I agree to.

It's really right there if you take the time to look.
I promise you I did look and see. But I just cannot remember a dozen different sets of details I read six months ago. My memory is just not that good anymore. From what other people have written, Disney apparently has changed the email confirmations so that they now include the information missing from the email confirmations I received. It's good that they're making improvements like that recognizing that people cannot remember so many little details for such a long time.

Andthe whole I shouldn't have to remember things I read six months ago, it all part of being an adult.
I'm not sure why people are trying hard to be rude to another person. As I said before, it is foolish to expect adults to remember which restaurant was 24 hours and which restaurant was 48 hours six months later. If everyone is supposed to remember every detail then why provide email confirmations at all? Why provide a place where you can look up which restaurants you have reserved and at what time and what day? Let's be fair and polite to each other. Thanks. :goodvibes

Sounds like somebody got up on the wrong side of the bed
