My mom may not be able to make it on our Jan 8th cruise :guilty: . Does anyone know if you can change the name on the reservation? if so does it cost extra?

Can you postpone your cruise and get the same rates orginally paid, or will they be for the current rates?

thanks, I'm really really bummed about this

If you have already made your final payment, I doubt you can postpone the cruise without losing at least your deposit. I have read that passengers can be substituted on a cruise, but you can't do that with plane tickets.

The lead person on the ressie can not be changed....you can change others in the cabin, but if you are already past final payment...I am sure charges will be incurred....as well as possibly paying current rates for the new person.

Call DCL and ask....that is your best bet.

Regarding your second question, you can't really postpone your cruise. You can transfer your reservation to another cruise, but you will pay the current rates. (Really it is a cancel and rebook type thing without the paperwork. ) Since your cruise is less than 75 days away, they will likely be penalties involved.

Call DCL directly for your specific case.

So sorry your cruise is in jeopardy. Here's some pixie dust that your mom will be able to make the cruise after all. :wizard:

You should call DCL and ask. I know there will be a fee to change/reschedule, but when I called and asked, I got 2 different answers - one person said $30 per person and another said $85. It might also depend on if the docs have been printed yet or not. I actually thought it was quite resonable (since most airlines charge $150 per person for a ticket worth much less than the price of the cruise).

Good luch & let us know how it turns out for you.

MIL booked 2 rooms. One opne ressie was me, ds & SIL. On the other was MIL, FIL & My 2 boys. She asked to switch SIL to her room & the boys to our room and they wouldn't do it without charging the current price of the cruise. Didn't make sense to me

Just leave the reservation the way it is. They do not check to see who is sleeping in what room.

You sure? So you are just securing your category and your discount and/or on-board discount but not the price when you push your cruise out?

 have a good turkey week.

Correct....if you are travelling let's say in May, and push back your cruise to July for whatever reason....you will have to pay current rates for July....not keep your May rates. Same as with an airline ticket...if you change your ticket to a new date you have to pay a fee and pay any increase in fare.

I have heard two stories on transferring "rebooked onboard" ressies. One, you keep your 10% discount and $200 onboard credit and apply it to whatever the current rate is for the new cruise. OR, I have also heard/read that when you transfer a ressie booked onboard, you get whatever the current "onboard rebooking offer" is.

For us, we moved our Cat 3 7 day Magic cruise April 2006 ressie booked onboard for 2A & 3C, to a grown ups only (2A) Cat 6 March 2007 3 day land/ 4day cruise. So we changed everything except the lead person on the ressie: # people, ships, cruises, categories, and dates. We recieved 10% off the current rate of the new cruise and kept our $200 stateroom credit. It was sad to give up our midship category 3, but the good news is that DH and I get a trip sans kids  and the new cruise is more than half paid for with the transferred deposit from the old cruise. :teeth:

Now we were also told when we rebooked onboard last summer that the 10% discount and onboard credit would not apply to any "special" cruises ... I still have one more cruise "booked" for later in 2006. I am hoping to transfer that to turkey week 2007, but still waiting for rates & dates. THAT cruise will hopefully be back in Category 3 (yes, I have already faxed DCL inventory control)

Come cruise with us that week!
