How long ago did you book the trip? If it's less than 14 days, the entire amount will be returned to the credit card. If it's longer than that, they will keep a portion of it. If you purchased trip insurance, they may keep that as well.

I'm sorry you had to cancel. I just had to shorten our trip by two days.

Your refund will be credited back to the same card you charged when you booked. Since your trip wasn't until September, you're well within the cancellation window, so you'll get it all back.

Glad to read this thread, as nice to know I am not the only one. I am 99% sure I am cancelling my September trip. I was going to bring my sister and her kids and pay their whole way ($$$$). We were suppose to go with another family, but they are talking of cancelling, but the trip is just too expensive either way, even with free dining. This will break the kid's heart to cancel, but money is money, and I need money for other things.

Oh well.

If she brought the travel insurance & then cancel she would get all back except the insurance. She has plenty of time to cancel since she is booked for Sept 2008.

Glad to read this thread, as nice to know I am not the only one. I am 99% sure I am cancelling my September trip. I was going to bring my sister and her kids and pay their whole way ($$$$). I'm not understanding this answer? Maybe I'm missing something, but I thought that if you booked room only you had until 6 days before your arrival date to cancel for a full refund....if you booked a package then you had to cancel 45 days before your arrival date for a full refund.

I booked our trip but it's still tenative as if some money I need doesn't appear then we'll either have to cancel or shorten it at least (or maybe stay offsite)....so the refund policy is very important to me and I read it a zillion times online and asked when I made the reservations and was told the 6 days and 45 days.

What is the 14 days that you are talking about?

I understood it to be that if you book a package more than 45 days before the trip, you have to pay the deposit only at time of booking. If you cancel more than 45 days before the trip, you get 100% of the deposit back (minus trip insurance if you get it). You have to pay the balance of the trip at least by 45 days prior to trip. If you cancel between 6 and 44 days before trip, there is a cancellation fee; the fee goes up if you cancel 5 or less days before the trip.
Can anyone confirm that this is right?? I have never cancelled a trip so not completely sure!
