Canceling/Rescheduling Question

Could someone help me out. I looked in my DVC guidebook, but I can't find out what the policies are about canceling or rescheduling a trip. I have a trip scheduled for early January and I really don't want to go. Is it too late for me to cancel/reschedule? I want to know what I'm dealing with before I bring this up to my DH. Thanks!

As long as you cancel 31 days or more before the arrival date, the points will be returned to your account. Any banked or borrowed points will remain in the use year you booked them in, they will not be returned to the original year.

you are more than 30days out so the points will go back into your account without penalty.

It all depends on your UY. If your UY is early in the calendar year, you have less time to use those points from the cancelled reservation. And you may be past your banking time frame.

That means you have until the end of May to bank your points should you decide not to go until after Oct. But any borrowed points or points already banked from last year will expire on Sept 30 unless you use them.
