Canceling later day(s) after check-in.

My family and parents have reserved two rooms (non-package) at POR for 8 nights the last week of May.

There is a possibility that my parents my have to leave a day or two early. I realize that they can remove some days 6 days before check-in without penalty, but what is Disney's policy on canceling the last day or two during the stay.

For example, say on the first day they realize that they will have to leave early, what can they expect? Paying a one night fee?

Would it make a difference if the decision is made before check-in (and less than 5 days out)?

Anyone have experience with this?

If you booked through Disney directly call them as they may be willing to work with you and they can inform you of the polocies.
If you booked through a travel agent (anyone other then Disney) you need to go by thier polocies.

I stayed at CSR for a meeting. Boss decided she didn't like the resort so we went to the front desk before 11 and they credited the days back onto our credit card. No problem.

We once had to leave a day earlier than we had planned, there was no problem. We told them the day before & got our money refunded.

We too, have left a day earlier than planned, and they happily refunded our credit card

I just went down to the front desk and told them that I will be checking out tomorrow cause I have a reservation at POFQ. The CM was very nice. He cancelled my last night and refunded me for that night.
