I finally figured it out, there is a cancel button when you pull up each day's FP+ but only under the link "Manage your Fastpass+" - warning ... if you cancel your "room" ressie first then you will be unable to access and cancel your Fastpass+ - I can still see them under "My Disney Experience" but I'm unable to access them.
I did write an email to guest services:
Dear Disney
Im not sure if my feedback will mean anything to a large corporation but I wanted to let you know that as a loyal Disney World customer I have decided to cancel our trip to the World 2/2-2/10/2014.
Since our last trip, the institution of the new Fastpass+ system and the new dining reservation policy has affected just how I perceive our vacation plans, therefore, I have:
1. Allowed our annual passes to lapse
2. Delayed our December trip to February
3. Struggled with understanding and accessing the new Fastpass+ system
4. Finally, I have thrown up my hands and canceled my room reservation, hoop de doo, teppan edo, and almost all my fastpass+ reservations.
I will take a wait and see attitude about how Disney refines the new programs over the next 6 months. I can understand that the programs are geared towards new visitors but I feel like loyal customers who have not abused the old systems are being penalized. In the end I can spend my vacation $$ elsewhere.
FYI- After I canceled my room reservation, I was unable to continue canceling my fastpass+ reservations so they are still hanging out there this bug needs to be fixed, in fact the whole interface/system needs to be revamped:
1. My park hopper ticket or even my old annual pass is useless under fastpass+
2. Sometimes it is impossible to know 12-18 hours in advance how you will feel about a dining reservation
3. I do not own a smart phone and I dont plan on getting one which means I must use the kiosks at the parks which are not as plentiful or easy to use as the old fastpass machines
