Canceling an ADR?

Okay, My family would like to try Yak and Yeti at AK for one of our table service meals. From what I can tell, we can not make an ADR for this place. I don't want to risk not using one of our TS meals. This is my thought. I could make an ADR for dinner at someplace else, then if we get in to Yak and Yeti for lunch, I could just cancel the dinner ADR. Is this rude? Is it even allowed? How far in advance do you need to cancel an ADR without it being counted on the DDP? Thanks.

Never mind. I just went to look at Yak and Yeti's menu again and we can make ADRs. It's 2008. Still getting used to that.

I'd still be curious, though how far in advance you need to cancel an ADR.

Thanks

It depends. A Few (CRAT for example) require a credit card guarantee and they have a 48 hour cancellation policy.
Most however, you can cancel anytime right up to the ADR.
It is best for everyone however, if you cancel early so that someone else has a chance to eat there.
