Canceling a Premium Site from 12/18-12/30 this weekend.

Just a heads up....
Was able to get a preferred site for 12/18-12/30 so I am canceling my premium site reservations for the same dates. I figured I would wait to cancel until I see if anyone on here wants to coordinate so they can call in. PM me to let me know. I plan on calling in sometime this weekend.

I don't think it's really possible to coordinate the transfer of reservation to someone unless you want to meet the other party at the Fort when they check in, but AWESOME scoring a Christmas week site this late in the year! Even if it is just a a change.....

Yeah just really wanted to give people a heads up so they can be on alert that a site will be opening up. Just be persistent in checking the website & call center for openings that is how I scored the preferred site. I call several times a day & the website way to much during the day. But that is done now since what I needed finally showed up this afternoon. Yay!

Honestly, since you'll be there the same time, if it was me.......I'd keep it and give to to whomever wants to commit to it. All you have to do is meet the person at the desk and when you check in, just tell them to put it in your "cousin's" name. People get multiple ressies all the time for multiple parties that are going together.

I guess you take the risk that the person flake's out and you're stuck with the one night's deposit, but can you imagine being able to make another camper's dream come true giving them a last minute premium reservation for Christmas week????

AFAIK you can't transfer ressies from one person to another and I would recommend just canceling what you don't need and let the chips fall where they might. I have heard of instances where the ressie system cancels everything when it sees something double booked like for meals since that implies they are working the system and not playing fair so to speak.

Unless things have changed since last Halloween, your statement is not entirely true. We've always made ressies for ourselves and our inlaws and during check in, we were all together and they changed the credit card and contact information into their name.

Remember the key word in my post was "TRANSFER" ... the difference in what you did was that your inlaws were on your actual ressie so all the names were there and anyone whose name is on the ressie can check in ... I was talking about taking your name off and putting on another person's name on the ressie to replace yours (i.e. transferring your ressie to someone else) ... that is not allowed AFAIK.

I'm gonna just show up and give them a loop and site # and tell them that the original reservations were made by my cousin, who asked me to come in their place. Don't see why that won't work.
