Canceling a Partial Reservation

With the new policy in place I had a problem adding a RO discount when it came out to an existing reservation. They had to cancel my reservation and I had to change dates and upgrade in order to apply the discount. They only have so many rooms for discounts.

Edit...I thought the FP was tied to your park ticket not your room only resort reservation.

I don't believe you can have two reservations ( same guests listed on both reservations.) for the same time period.

they don't anymore. You can have two rooms on different dates but not two rooms on the same.

If you have say a party of 6 and need two rooms that is ok.

That's what I meant. How do people who NEED 2 rooms book them
What stops someone from creating dummy friends to have a need for 2 rooms?

I guess there are people who do these things, and I'm sure that has had an effect on Disney policies, but that is an awful lot to go through to try to "pull one over" on Disney. I tried reading the thread about maximizing your fps, and it went beyond me. I don't think I could expend that much time and energy over something that's supposed to be a vacation. Having read some of the lengths some people go through to have the perfect dining reservations, fast passes. multiple magic bands, etc, I think I would need a vacation to recover from all the planning. With my touring style, I know I wouldn't be able to enjoy it. All I want is to be able to afford to go to Disney World and take my 2 granddaughters before the oldest one starts school, lol.
