Canceled room reservation...do I need to cancel and re-book fastpasses?

Due to changes in our trip plans and some friends offering us room at their timeshare, I canceled our rooms at ASM last week. However, the fastpasses I had already booked are still showing up in MDE, and I'm now in our 30-day time frame for the first couple days of our trip. I'm not super concerned as we have 10 days at WDW and I didn't have a lot of hard to get FPs anyway, but I'm wondering if the old ones will drop off eventually because if they will I'd rather just cancel them and re-book others now rather than waiting to see what is left if and when they drop off. Anyone else had this happen before?

If you are within the 30 day window and your tickets are still valid and linked in MDE, your FP+ should remain intact.

Fast passes are linked to your tickets not your resort (except for the 60 day onsite advantage) so you should not lose them as long as your tickets remain inked in your MDE.

Interesting. So is this a loophole that people could (and probably have, many times over) exploit? Book a WDW room and tickets, book FP at 60 day window, and then cancel the room while getting housing somewhere else, thus keeping their FPs?

OP, not accusing you of gaming the system, BTW....

We cancelled a lot of trips last year due to illness and the FPs stayed as long as it was within 30 days and the tickets stayed linked. Obviously I went in and cancelled them since we weren't using them

I fully expected to lose them. I canceled at around 33 days or so from the first day of our trip. The website even told me I would lose them. I was just curious on whether I needed to cancel them myself (so I wouldn't be in a worse spot if the system DOES cancel eventually) or if they'll stay forever if they're still there now. I don't have anything I couldn't get anyway (no 7DMT, no Pandora, etc.) but I'd just as soon not mess with re-doing everything if I don't have to. I guess my only concern is if they might disappear a few days before our trip or something.

As far as linked tickets, Hubby and I are AP holders but the kids aren't. Their tix got canceled with the package, but then I bought their tickets right after I canceled the package. The FPs are for all 9 of us, for whatever that's worth.

The number of days doesn’t matter when Canceling an onsite resort stay. Your FPs remain based on your valid tickets.

The onsite resort stay only opened the FP booking window... your valid tickets-APs keep the FPs intact.

With APs, you do max out at booking FPs for 7 days or your onsite length of Stay whichever is longer.

And because of people, a PP, who keep pointing out this loophole, yes, now even more people know that even if an onsite resort stay is canceled, all booked FPs remain - even if the resort stay is canceled at day 60 or day 31.
