Due to some unforseen things, - it looks like we might have to cancel our Christmas trip. (god my heart is breaking just typing this. I can't believe this is happening.)

So now I'm trying to sort out this mess, and I've got a ton of questions:

-what's the cancelation policy? I'm supposed to arrive on the 19th. I've paid hotel, tickets and dining plan. How much money will it cost me to cancel this late.

-how quickly will they credit my card?

-Is there any way to get my money back on our MVMCP? I've got 3 tickets for the 19th.

-will canceling our ressie automatically cancel our dining ressies? or do I have to do that separately?

-on canceling the ressies, is it to late to cancel our Spirit of Ohana and Candlelight processional without penalty?

Thanks for any information you can give me. This whole situation is really horrible and I need to figure out whats going to do and how to handle it.

I hope this helps:

-Cancelations policy vary so I suggest you call Disney (or your travel agent depending on how you booked it) and ask what it would be for your particular reservation. Most of the time as long as you give them more than 6 days notice they will not charge a cancelation fee. But it depends on what type of package you had and what the situation is. If you explain the situation to them, they will usually help you out regardless.

-Credits returning to a credit card usually take 2-3 billing cycles to appear, they can come in sooner, but it is usually at least 2 cycles.

-MVMCP tickets are "technically" non-refundable, but you may be able to get them to refund them if you explain the situation... Try contacting Walt Disney World Ticketing at 407-566-4985

-Canceling your hotel reservations will not cancel your Dining ADR's, you will need to do that seperatly.

-Spirit of Aloha and Candlelight Dinner Packages can be canceled up to 48 hours in advance with no penalty, so you still have time to do that.

Without knowing your situation, I just wanted to say that I hope everything works out for you and your family. And that you are able to have a happy holiday!

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer all those questions! I really appreciate it! But it did bring up a couple more....

When you say 2 billing cycles...... are we talking a 2 months? And is it different for a debit card? Because what I used was actually a Visa debit card, backed with cold hard cash that I'd like to have back sooner! When I canceled my room only ressie some time back it only took 7 days. So maybe it is different with a debit?

As far as the MVMCP have you ever heard of anyone selling them on ebay? is that even allowed? If Disney won't refund my money I'd at least like to recoup some of the money.

Thanks again! I'm really hoping this won't be necessary, but I'll know more on Monday or Tuesday. But I just have so much to deal with to cancel, I'm trying to wrap my head around it. And honestly, if we don't get the money back for two months it may not help us at all.

If you used a debit card it usually takes about 5 or 6 days, but can take up to a month. Credit cards are weird when they process refunds that is why those take 2 billing cycles, it depends on the CC company. Debit card credits usually process fairly quickly.

Yes I have heard of people selling their tickets on Ebay, people also offer them up here on the Dis. With the Dis, as long as you are selliing them for face value it usually is ok. Most people just post that they have the tickets and would like to sell them and for people to contact them via Private message and/or email, that way it is not actually being sold on the thread.

Good luck!
