Unfortunately, we will be cancelling our trip for 11/30 due to medical problems. Will disney refund us the money for the xmas party tickets?

That's such a close date, I don't know if they will...i think they're non-refundable....but on this site...you may be able to find someone who is willing to buy them from you....good luck hope the medical situation improves

Call Disney! I have heard others on the boards that have explained similar situations and they have received refunds. I am so sorry about your cancellation. P&PD Maggie

I would take Mickeysaver's suggestion and call Disney first thing in the morning and ask - the more time they have to work with, maybe the more generous they will be in refunding. Let us know how you make out.

Good luck with your MIL problems. We have been in the same situation with parents and in-laws. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Is there any way your trip could be postponed a few weeks? If so, you could probably trade the tickets for another day if you contact Guest Services and have a letter from a medical professional (this might work for a refund as well).

unfortunately by the time we decide for sure we are not going-it will be this friday-i won't be able to get them to anyone in time to use them! disney told me they are non-refundable even for a medical emergency! i was kind of pissed about that!

I totally understand your feelings, but you knew these were non-refundable when you bought them. We might be going down the 19th of December, the last MVMCP is 20 December. but then, school might not let out til afternoon 20 Dec - 12 hour drive, no way to make the party. I made the decision to not buy tickets. I know Medical is different, but that is the risk we take.

And just imagine how many folks would try to claim medical emergency, how could Disney check it out? So they just have to say no. So, no reason to get mad at Disney, IMHO, sorry.

I sincerely hope your MIL pulls through!

 just kick her while she's down.

I didn't do that, but I just don't feel it is fair to be pissed at Disney for that. I totally would be upset too, but at the circumstances, not a company for following their rules, that I knew of at the beginning.

It is not about the $150.00 for the tickets, it really is about the circumstances. If Disney wanted a "valid" reason, I would glad to prove any documentation necessary. I am really "ok" with losing that money; it IS only money. But, this trip is very sentimental to us because my mother passed away a few months ago and specifically WANTED us to go this time and left us some money to use for the trip. So, it isn't a financial thing to me. It is the whole thought behind the trip. I WILL try to see if someone could use them, even if I give them away. I hate to see that money wasted.

That's all.

I understand what you are saying, but I agree with an earlier poster. Disney just occassionally has to stick to their own rules or risk being overwhelmed...

Good luck. EBAY is usually a good option, but it doesn't sound like you have made the final decision yet so that may not leave you enough time to sell them.

I am "hoping" to go to the party next Tuesday, but due to work issues I still haven't bought tickets.. (Hope it doesn't sell out and I get to go!)
