We're supposed to arrive in two weeks. We are two fully vaccinated middle-aged empty nesters traveling alone. I have no fears of catching COVID, but have concerns about the rising infection rate and whether it even makes sense to travel from Massachusetts to one of our country's hot spots???

That's a very personal decision. We went in October as unvaccinated, over-55 adults at a time when no one was vaccinated and masks were required everywhere. All I can recommend is that you educate yourself on the latest information known about this variant and make an informed decision. If the conditions are such that you would not relax & enjoy your visit, then by all means cancel your trip.
