Cancel ADR's in Preparation for Fastpass Plus or Keep ADR's?

We are still trying to figure out our strategy for fastpass plus booking. Right now on some days I have 2 ADR's and plan on only keeping only one of them. We have ADR's booked at 1pm and 6:30pm on a Magic Kingdom day for Crystal Palace, Mama Melrose and Boma on a HS day, Le Cellier twice on an Epcot day, Tusker House and Boma on a AK day. We have a group of 8. I am hesitant to cancel either until we see how things work out with our fastpasses and get closer to the trip.

Do you think working around two ADR's at 1pm and 6:30pm is going to be too restrictive when I go to book fastpass plus?

I'm not sure I understand your question. Do you think the adrs are going to restrict what fastpasses are available to you when you go to book, i.e. it won't let you book something at 1:00 because you have an adr at 1:00? They are two separate things and have no effect upon each other.

If it helps, I am pretty positive that the two systems are not linked and you would not be prevented from booking a FP+ that happens to overlap if sit ends up being a pass you want.

That said, I find some of your meal times a bit close together. But they may work out.

Either way, I would not adjust dining until you know your FP situation. Especially for MK and coveted fastpasses there.

Thank you. I did think the two were linked and would interfere with each other. I hope the overwhelmed feeling of planning goes away at some point. I used to love planning but the degree of planning combined with life being much busier is making it more of a challenge. Hopefully, I don't have any other major things mixed up. Thank you so much. I'm glad I asked.

They are not linked. If you book FP and dining reservations that conflict, MDE will have a little notice in your itinerary saying that the two times overlap, but nothing will actually happen.

They can overlap and once you make them if the FP+ does overlap you can try to change the time of the FP+ so it does not.

This! Some will say that you are being an ADR "hog", but don't fret. Many on here do this (myself included) as it can often be the only way to insure you get the ADR's and FP's you want...As long as you make sure to cancel/change when you have your plans settled. Keep in mind that you can constantly change the ADR's and the FP's. There is a fee for the ADR if you don't cancel within the 1 day window . I did some tweaking as my trip got closer and times opened up. Keep checking and checking until you get exactly what you want.
