Well I am planning my trip to Disney as a single mom of 11 year old twins and looking for any advise. I intend on flying out of Bangor as it is the most economical from New Brunswick.
I am booking Air on Dec 6 and looking at arriving on Feb 1 for 7 nights, permitting my daughter doesn't have to go for brain surgery number 6.......and her health keeps up.
My daughters requested this trip several years ago and between trips to sick kids, brain surgeries, and medical expenses I have managed to save 3300cdn. My cheapest air I have found is approx 700usd. I know disney is going to cost us the same for the park hopper passes. Which then leaves hotel, rental car, food and maybe a set of Mickey Mouse ears......
Does anyone have any tips on where to save, maybe a decent hotel for a decnet price keeping in mind my budget is tight.
Oh yes, and any canadians who have med insurance advise is welcome.
Well any help or advice is appriciated.

Welcome to the DIS. Hopefully folks will be able to get you all the info you need. As far as saving money goes, check out the budget board here on the DIS as they have lots of money saving tips.

Cheers
John

You might want to contact madonna31 from this board (christine@fairytaledestinations.com) a Canadian Disney specialist. She might be able to help.

I hope your daughter's health keeps up and you are able to go!

Did you get a price quote for a value resort with the Dining Plan? You would use their transportation to/from the airport - no car would be needed. Meals would be prepaid.

Your best bet would be to take advantage of the current winter discounted offer available for your travel dates.

As an example:

Disney's Pop Century Resort (or any Value level property) Standard View Room
1 adult, 2 children (age 11)
• (3) 7-Day Magic Your Way PREMIUM Tickets, includes 7 days of unlimited admission into the four major theme parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios and Disney’s Animal Kingdom) plus 6 days of admission to Disney’s Blizzard Beach water park, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park, DisneyQuest, Downtown Disney Pleasure Island or Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex
• Dining for every night of your stay - 1 counter service meal, 1 table service meal (includes character meals) and 1 snack for everyone in your party. (Includes tax AND gratuity, does not include alcohol)
• Round trip transfers to and from the Orlando Airport

$ 2,133.90 USD

Keep in mind that this price include Disney's FREE round trip transportation from the Orlando (MCO) airport and Walt Disney World. Transportation is not needed while at the Walt Disney World Resort. There are buses, monorails and ferryboats to whisk you around the 47 square mile complex.

So really; all you'd need to purchase on top of this cost would be the Mickey ears. :goodvibes
