Canadian Scrappers?

Hi Grover, It's me Lori from Thunder Bay. Congratulations on your up coming wedding. You'll have to get busy and scrap your Disney pictures before the big day. .

Hi ,

I have only been scrapping for about six months but I have to admit: I AM ADDICTED! I absolutely love it and only wish that I could just sit down all day and spread out my stuff and scrap away. Unfortunately, I can only do my scrapbooking when my three kids are in bed-asleep, and if I have the energy. The one problem that I have come up against is the fact that there are no real scrapbook stores here in Montreal. There isn't even a Micheals. I have been ordering online from a store in edmonton, but it would be so nice to have the option of actually seeing things in person and not over the web. Oh well, I guess you can't have everything right! If anyone can recommend stores where they have bought things online I would appreciate it! Thanks! By the way, my family has just scheduled an unexpected trip to disney- my husband needed a break, and luckily for us our kids are still young enough to take out of school ( which I wouldn't ordinarily do, but my DH had to work through the entire vacation time). I'm now preparing for Disney and thinking of all the scrapbooking I'm going to be doing. This is great- combining two of my all time favorite things! :teeth:

I know Timon is from Canada (Calgary area if I remember correctly). Haven't seen her posting on this forum in a while though.

Here's her webpage with tons of layouts including WDW & cruise. She does nice work.

Ha ha Splsh ;)

Yeah, still alive and kicking but being back at work really sucks away my scrap and surf time

It's been months since I have even entered my sb room! Sacre bleu! Working on my second "real life" scrapbook. Started from 1996 and I am now at Oct '98 but this is my wedding month and there are many many pages to do :p so I have slowed down.

Marli,
no sb stores in Montreal? ouch! Good thing I don't live there anymore! We have two really nice stores here in Calgary and Michael's as well. I have ordered online from Magic Scraps
magicscraps.com
and got some cool stuff! Also, my local sb store has a big online store you can check out:

Hi, Timon.

I remembered you said you were doing a non-Disney album (gasp!!), so I figured maybe that was what was keeping you from here..... but glad to hear you are back to work.

Ya know.... some day I'm gonna take you up on the offer for help on info on the Canadian Rocky Mtn trip I would love to take. One can dream!!!

Splsh,

:p Hey anytime girl! You let me know when you are planning your dream trip and I'm there for ya!

My dream right now is to go back on the Disney Magic for the Western Itinerary :) But that dream is a little far away right now. But! we are thinking about a road trip back to Vegas and California for our 5th anniversary this October  Looking forward to seeing DCA and going back to do all the new coasters at Six Flags Magic Mountain.

Thanks for posting your layout! It actually gave me the inspiration to re-enter my sb room :) Just in the middle of doing our honeymoon Disneyland page right now!

Maybe when I finish this album I will grab the digital camera and post my 2 non-Disney albums :p

Thanks for the motivation :bounce:

We should do a Cedar Point, Ohio mini-meet! LOL That's about 1/2 way for both of us I think?

Hi Marli! Here is link that lists many of the scrapbook locations in Canada

http://www.welovescrapbooking.com/home.html

There are 3 stores in Quebec but not sure if any of them are near you! Hopefully it will help.
Who are you ordering from in Edmonton? There is a company there called www.scrapbooking.ca the owner is just wonderful and they have a good selection ect-I recommend them. You may want to check out some stores while in florida,if you post I think that Bev has a list of them.
Happy Scrapping!

Splsh,

LOL;)

Cedar Point is actually yet another one of our "dreams" along with some other coaster parks in around that part of the States. One day we want to do our North American Coaster Tour (as soon as we win the lottery :) )

However, it's a little further for us I think :p I'm guessing it's about ...hmm 750 miles from you??? Unfortunately, it's over 2000 miles from us

But one day we will make it! Until then, we can dream right? ;)

Grover,

Thanks for the sites- actually, R&R is where I've been ordering from- the service has been great and the selection is good too. I've been to one of the stores in Quebec- but it is really much more geared to stamping than to scrapping (although these days there is more crossover since we use many of the same products) and the other two stores are way out of my way. Sooooo, the best I can do for now is to buy online or to convince my husband that we need to travel over the border to plattsburg (NY).:teeth: Have you ever ordered from the U.S? I'm scared to do it because not only are we paying in U.S. dollars but then we have to pay the additional GST on top of it once it crosses the border. If anyone has done this I would love to hear if you found it worthwhile.

Thanks,
marlene

Hi Marli,
I had the opportunity to visit Montreal and Quebec City on my vacation last fall. The area is so beautiful. I would hope I could plan another visit in the not so distant future.

I'm just outside of Toronto (Brampton) I have been scrappin for a couple of years . I am trying to get caught up in my book as I am 1 1/2 years behind!! AHHHH.

Chessie,

If you are planning on another visit you should check out Montreal during the summer period when we have Jazz fest or the comedy fest going on. There are a lot of amazing headline names but there are dozens of free attractions that you wander around to see. IMHO,summer is the best time to see Montreal (that is unless you are a skiier).
