Canadian looking for car rental advice

In May 2010, I plan on staying at the HoJo for 5 days and then will head to the Hilton (Liberty Station) in San Diego for 8 days. My last trip (early this year) was cool as I stayed on the grounds (Disneyland Hotel) and took the airport transfer to and from. Anyway, this time I need to get around more. The first part will be straight forward as I will take a transfer to the HoJo and then walk to the park while I am there. My question is about getting a rental from the HoJo area. Is this straight forward and does anyone have advice. I have 4 people in my party (2 adults and 2 kids ages 5 and 2). Once I get to San Diego, I suspect I would use the rental a lot as I will visit the Zoo, Legoland et al.

We have rented from the Hertz location on Katella, it is about a mile from Disneyland. They were very helpful and they picked DH up from the hotel and took him there to rent the car. I'd just search for car rental places nearby DL and call them to find out if they will pick you up so that you can rent the car. Good luck!
