Canadian DVC owners I have a question for you

Ok this will sound silly but i need to close on my purchase and I have to either send a cashiers cheque or wire the money. Has anyone wired money and if so where did you go to? Was it expensive?

wire it right from your bank, ask the broker what the transaction numbers are and give them to your bank. I think when we did it with RBC twice it was nominal when you consider how much your sending, maybe $25, and secure, and you get a record that it was recieved

We also wired ours. We deal with TD and the fee is around $30. Just tell the broker you want to wire the money. He should be able to give you the required information.

I think it depends on the title company. When we dealt with First American Title, their wire instructions were so confusing that we ended up sending a cashiers cheque, via Expresspost. They had three different receiver addresses listed on their instructions, and couldn't confirm which one to actually use. Now we have a US bank account through RBC and just call them up to send a wire, they can do it over the phone. So much easier!

We also sent a US Dollar bank draft. It was no charge for us and they were going to charge $30 to wire. Sent it Purolator.

We did wire transfers from our bank. Never had any problems.
