We have just purchased additional DVC points through The Tmeshare Store. We were already DVC members but bought our first membership through Disney directly. Are there any canadians that on these boards who have purchased points through them? Is it safe (and legit) to send them a certified check?

They are a fine company completely above board. They are safe and ok to send a certified check to.

I am currently in the process of buying a 210 point contract at VWL thru them myself. If you look under the DVC section on this board, they get great reviews, and I made sure to call the Better Business Bureau before I sent my deposit check, and everything seemed to be good thru them as well.

Hi, we bought 2 resales from The Timshare Store. They do a hugh percentage of Disney resales. Scot who I dealt with were courteous, efficient, always returned my phonecalls promptly. The process was very painless. :thumbsup2

We bought through them as well without a hitch and a lot of patience on their part (we had a specific point range and use year that we wanted and eventually got).

Thank you to all who replied. Which method of payment did you all use? Certified check, money order? We have a USD bank account, do you think they will accept a personal check from that account?

From Canadian accounts I believe they need a certified check or bank draft.

I sent a draft when I sent in my deposit, and I'll be sending in a draft again when I send the remainder of my money owing. Sending a personal cheque would delay things as well especially if it came from Canada as it would have to clear before they could make things final. I know for a cheque to clear between Canadian accounts takes 5-10 business days, I can only imagine how long it would take if it had to clear between accounts in Canada and the U.S.

I bought this winter through TSS problem free. I was actually surprised and glad how quickly the process went! I bought 52 pts at BCV to supplement my 150 pts at SSR that I bought thru Disney. I was very happy with the process. I put the money into my USD account when the rates were good. And from there sent the deposit and balance (in draft form). My bank didn't even charge me for one of the drafts.

I would do it again, if I had more $ or holiday time! :rotfl:

I was more peeved at Fed-ex and how expensive it is to overnight something to FL!

We bought OKW contract through them, very professional and they even gave us a basket full of great goodies when we went to FL.:goodvibes
