My wife and I had a four night cruise booked on the Dream at the end of September (booked back in April 2015). My wife is currently 9 weeks pregnant and the sudden cases of Zika in Florida and Nassau had us seriously concerned. With the help and the incredible customer service from Jet Blue, Disney World, and Disney Cruise line we were able to change all of plans so we will now be taking the Magic out of New York with stops in Canada (St Johns and Halifax).

Neither of us have been to either city and just looking for people's opinions on the best excursions at these locations (we will also have our two year old daughter with us).

Also, we had previously sailed on the Magic back in 2009 and had don't the Exotic Rasul together. On the site it lists the cost as $89 "per adult"? I don't recall this costing anywhere near $180 for us in total so I wasn't sure whether anyone has done this recently and may confirm the cost per couple?

Thank you all so much!!

We did the 5 day cruise to Canada when DCL started going there. These are 2 awesome ports of call. We actually hired a driver while in St John because it was cheaper for our family of 4 and it provided us our own private tour. Our guide took us to the river first thing in the morning so we could see the river flowing out and then made sure to take us back to the river before we had to get back on the ship to see the river flowing backwards with the tide coming in. Our table mates informed us at dinner they had paid for the Pink Bus and it was horrible. They only got to see the river in the morning and quickly toured without making a lot of stops to actually get off the bus and see things. In New Brunswick we rented a car and toured ourselves which again was cheaper and better for our family. We are an adventurous family that likes to see and experience things while in port without breaking the bank to do so. Hope that helps! You will like this cruise...enjoy!!!

My husband and I are sailing on this cruise as well as first time on the magic. I think we are only stopping in Halifax?

Sorry, meant to say Halifax is where we rented the car. I had St John on my mind! lol

The 5 night sailing from NYC to Canada on 10/2/16 (assume you meant 2016 vs. 2017 so I apologize if not) does stop at both Halifax and Saint John. We are doing the Peggy's Cove & Titanic Museum in Halifax and then the Trolley round Saint John.

Hope this helps,
Heather

We did this cruise last time Disney was in NYC. Loved it. Halifax and St Johns are nice and we did Peggy's cove which was very nice and fun. Also did hop on hop off bus.

We are on the 5 night cruise on October 2nd. The first day is at sea, then St Johns, followed by Halifax, and then another day at sea on the way back to NY.

We did the Titanic Cemetery and Peggy Cove trip. Loved it. This time I want to walk to the Maritime Museum and see the Titanic Exhibit.

Thanks Heather!

I'm just excited to be still going on a Disney cruise

The Titanic exhibit is something we are considering as long as it's within walking distant from the ship.

I'm just happy that we are still able to be on a Disney ship after having to cancel our trip to Florida and the Bahamas.

I found this today while seeing how far the museum is from the ship. Looks doable to me via walking.

Please be sure to post trip reports! I am really looking forward to hearing about your experiences as I have it booked for next year! Have Fun!

We are on the 10/2 cruise also and we sailed the same itinerary in 2012. Like last time, we are renting a car in each port and going off to hike. It will be cooler this time, but should still be great to enjoy some natural beauty. Only 32 days till we sail!

I did the Exotic Rasul and while it said it was $89 per adult, I confirmed that it was only $89 + gratuity total for two adults.

I read somewhere that it's totally doable walking distance from the ship, I did a google earth walk and it looks really close. Seems like there are neat activities for the kids there so we may look into that. If I didn't have little ones I would be down for the pub crawl

My cabin mate doesn't drink or else I would love to do the pub crawl!!!
