Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

Thanks Tammie! :)

Well, we waited for you, but eventually had to start without you.

Oh Gawd.
My poor dog was panicking last night whenever she heard fireworks.
Luckily, there was only a bit at 10 and then some at midnight.
Didn't last long.
I can't imagine her after 10 hours of fireworks!

Well actually, Love Actually.
Thanks Tammie! :)

Well actually, Love Actually.

I hope she actually liked it

Jim picked up sushi and the new Vacation movie tonight. Thumbs down, although I died laughing at the Japanese GPS guy.

Fireworks ended a little earlier this year ...maybe 2 ish? Once we went to bed, she was happy to hide under the covers with us and was fine after all. Don't ask. She is completely spoiled.

Well, hi there Alison! :)

Yep!
(Tired, tho.)

Thanks! And best wishes to you and Fran as well! :goodvibes

You are such a sweet heart! I can't tell you how much I enjoy your wishes!

I' am tired as well. going to bed now!

I hope she actually liked it

Actually, we all did.
But don't tell the guys.
I'm gonna see if I can get my man-card back this year.
If that gets out, it'll seriously hurt my chances.

I've seen it, but for the life of me I can't remember the Japanese GPS guy!

Funny tidbit.
Kay saw it in the theatre and really liked it, but hadn't seen the original.
So I got it and we watched it.
When Christie Brinkley shows up in her car,
Kay wanted to know if she was going to get hit by a truck.

Fireworks ended a little earlier this year ...maybe 2 ish?

Not quite so bad, then.

Once we went to bed, she was happy to hide under the covers with us and was fine after all. Don't ask. She is completely spoiled.

Not asking. Ours was shivering on the bed between us.

You are such a sweet heart! I can't tell you how much I enjoy your wishes!

G'night! Wait. Hang on.
<tuck> <tuck> <tuck> <tuck> <tuck>

There. Now you're all tucked in.
I'll just turn out the light on my way out.
Don't worry. I'll leave the door open a crack.
G'night.

Read them all! Thanks!

Thanks for reading!

:beach:

Yes and yes!

I do have us booked into a 1 bdrm suite at the Maui Coast Hotel in Kihei,
but I'm still looking for better.

Saw that place. Looks beautiful.

And after reading it, even though the price is higher,
I sent an inquiry off this morning to a condo owner there.
(Want to know if parking is included in the price or not.)

Thanks for reading up!

One more thing to mention about the Honua Kai and the other resorts in that area. We were there in the summer. But it is now whale season. According to reports on Trip Advisor, guests have seen whales from Ka'anapali Beach.

You guys sure did a lot of snorkeling (and yes, that's jealousy.)

Well, yes, but some of us may think we didn't do enough. Snorkeling.Is.AWESOME!!!

We thought the surf lessons from Maui Waver Riders were great. Another friend used Happy Feet (I think) on Maui and recommends them as well.

The Trilogy (and probably other Molokini Snorkel excursion companies) see whales during their sails as well. And/or I think they have whale watch cruises as well.

:boat:

Can't wait to hear about your plans! (and yes, that's jealousy.)

Finally getting a minute to reply! Sorry I've fallen behind and I can't get up :sad2:. Ok bad jokes set aside....First and foremost Happy New Year!!!! I hope the holidays treated you well!

We fly out on Wednesday February 17.
We leave around 4:30pm so she can go right after work.
We arrive Vancouver and spend the night.
Next day Maui, arriving around 2pm.
We then have that evening, all of Friday,
Saturday and Sunday.
We leave Sunday night at 11:30pm.
A quick stop in Vancouver
and home mid-afternoon on Monday.

A quick trip to Hawaii is way better than no trip to Hawaii fo sure!

What?
Well, of course there was one waiting for us.
Sheesh! Did you really t

That's the magic of the VIP package in action, folks

We exited our little oasis, climbed a flight of stairs
and checked in at Teppan Edo for our ADR.
(Hmmm... 17 of you just went "D'oh!"

Yes!!!

I did not... repeat NOT, touch the cooking surface with my finger.
(I'm curious. Let me know if you get (or don't get) that reference.

Sorry I got nuttin' zilch, zero clue

you might be familiar with a game called Galaga.
It used to be one of my favourite games.
This is back when dinosaurs roamed the arcades,
you understand.

Ah ha! Old school gaming is the best. Brings me back to my Pac Man days!

So without any further blather from yours truly,
here are some of the shots I took around Pop.
Hope you enjoy!

Lovely! Disney after dark is so beautiful!

1. AM or PM? Do we get out of our room in the morning or afternoon?

I'm going to say morning, since last day is approaching thee should be no sleeping in ( in theory of course!)

2. We have an ADR... in Epcot. Third time's the charm? Where is it?
(Hint: Not Biergarten or Teppan Edo)

Coral Reef

3. Speaking of Epcot, what's our first ride?
(Hint: Think outside the box.)

My outside the box thinker is not working very well at the moment...hummm. The boat from FW to WS?

4. Of our three Epcot FPs...
a. Which Tier one FP? Soarin', Test Track or The Land?
b. Do we use 0, 1

TT, not sure if you've been on that one yet this trip
I bet you use 2 of your 3 FP's

Just stopped in to see if you had a great new year. Sounds like it was relaxing.
Ten minutes after my hubby left for his football game my oldest who's nine got sick.:crazy2: You would think by nine they could get to the toilet. Well, it was an eventful day and night filled with laundry and Lysol. The following night my baby got sick. All in my bed.:worried: It's been a hard two days and I still have three more kids to go. :sad:Hubby came home today so he's been on cleaning duty since he walked in the door. Not sure why I'm telling you all this, but you always seem to cheer me up. I guess I just need a hug.

Happy New Year! I hope I get a Disney trip this year, its been over three years!
Saw Star Wars on Christmas with these awesome reclining seats. Now I never want to go anywhere else! DH has seen it three times! It was good but once was enough for me.

Gotta get my guesses in:

1. AM because it's the last day
2. Going to stick with Rose and Crown
3. Sum of All Thrills
4. Test Track because you haven't done it
5. You only used 2.

One more thing to mention about the Honua Kai and the other resorts in that area. We were there in the summer. But it is now whale season. According to reports on Trip Advisor, guests have seen whales from Ka'anapali Beach.

I've heard that. I'm still waiting to hear back from the renter.
Nothing yet, but it was the holidays, so I haven't given up hope.
Still... $500/night is pretty darned expensive.
Granted it's high season.
Did you book through their website? Or VRBO? Or???

Well, yes, but some of us may think we didn't do enough. Snorkeling.Is.AWESOME!!!

I may be the only one of my family to share that sentiment.

We thought the surf lessons from Maui Waver Riders were great. Another friend used Happy Feet (I think) on Maui and recommends them as well.

Don't think we'll be taking surf lessons again.
We did it twice last time, on to different adventures, I think.
Plus, now I don't think I'd risk it with my back.
Thinking of a bunch of different things,
but it's tough to find something everyone wants to do.

The Trilogy (and probably other Molokini Snorkel excursion companies) see whales during their sails as well. And/or I think they have whale watch cruises as well.

We might do whale watching. Just haven't decided yet.

Can't wait to hear about your plans! (and yes, that's jealousy.)

 My evil plan is working!

Finally getting a minute to reply! Sorry I've fallen behind and I can't get up :sad2:.

That's okay. Holidaze happen.

Ok bad jokes set aside....First and foremost Happy New Year!!!! I hope the holidays treated you well!

Happy New Year to you to!
I'd say we had a pretty good holiday. :)
Hope you had a good one too!

A quick trip to Hawaii is way better than no trip to Hawaii fo sure!

That's the way I see it.

That's the magic of the VIP package in action, folks

::yes::

Ya like that, huh?

Sorry I got nuttin' zilch, zero clue

Okey dokey. That makes it 3 for 19.

Ah ha! Old school gaming is the best. Brings me back to my Pac Man days!

Well sure. Simple. Fun. Now you need a computer science degree.
And people wonder why Angry Birds or Candy Crush do so well.

Lovely! Disney after dark is so beautiful!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Noted.

Just stopped in to see if you had a great new year. Sounds like it was relaxing.

It was!
And it's right about here that I'd say something like:
"Hope yours was good, too!"

But I shall refrain since I already know the answer...

Ten minutes after my hubby left for his football game my oldest who's nine got sick.:crazy2:

Ugh. It's bad enough when one of the kids are sick, but...

You would think by nine they could get to the toilet.

... yeah. No.
Usually by around 12-13 they figure it out though.

"Hmm.... Odd. I feel an urge to vomit.
Perhaps I should mosey on over to the oddly shaped receptacle
in the bathroom with water in the bowl....
Nah. I'll be okayarrrrrrrrgggghhhhhuuuuhhhhhhhh..."

Well, it was an eventful day and night filled with laundry and Lysol.

Awww.... Feel bad for you.
Almost feel like I shouldn't be enjoying myself.

But I'm still gonna.
But I'll think about you while I'm doing it, okay?

The following night my baby got sick. All in my bed.:worried:

Oh, no! You poor things!
(I'm including you for the work and stress,
and the baby for being sick in that.)

It's been a hard two days and I still have three more kids to go.

Hang in there! With luck, someone will discover what a toilet is for!

Hubby came home today so he's been on cleaning duty since he walked in the door. Not sure why I'm telling you all this, but you always seem to cheer me up. I guess I just need a hug.

That must've been fun.
"Boy! I sure enjoyed watching football! Good to be home, though!
Just let myself in here and...
What the heck happened to my house???
And who is this crazed woman thrusting a vomiting child in my arms?????"

And... I was going to do this earlier after the Lysol comment,
but I saved it 'til now.

Happy New Year! I hope I get a Disney trip this year, its been over three years!

You're closer than I am.
Just point the car south and keep going until you see Mickey.

And Happy New Year to you too!

Saw Star Wars on Christmas with these awesome reclining seats.

I just did that!!! Yesterday! Same reclining seats, too!
(Well, not the same I suppose. But similar.)

Now I never want to go anywhere else! DH has seen it three times! It was good but once was enough for me.

I actually like the fact you can reserve the seats
more than the seats themselves.
Knowing you don't have to show up early and stand in line
to get a good seat is worth the extra cost.

I think I'll go see it again. Not positive... but I think so.

Gotta get my guesses in:

Coming in under the wire.
More on that in a sec...

1. AM because it's the last day
2. Going to stick with Rose and Crown
3. Sum of All Thrills
4. Test Track because you haven't done it
5. You only used 2.

Noted.

Just a heads up kiddies.

The next update is done.
I'm waiting until the 4th to post it (evening)
to give everyone a chance to recover from the festivities
and post their comments.

aw man! we have to wait two days!!!

Pkondz! :wave2: I just binge read this report off and on all day. :faint: That should earn me some bonus points, no? jk. Well, here goes.

He asked her again. "Are you sure you're not running away?"
"No. I'm sure." She replied.

Huh. That's all it took. That she's sure. :rolleyes2

She neatly solved that problem by telling me:
"I'll order the ham, you order the turkey, and if I don't like the ham, we'll switch."

That right there, ladies and gents, is the definition of being a parent.

truth. At least she let you know ahead of time, my boys just steal my food with no warning. :rotfl:

"Our first model is dressed in a lovely shade of stark white offset by four stunning black wheels."
Kay picked up the spiel. "The next suitcase is sporting a lovely red colour. Perfect for this fall's fashions."
I took a picture of the models as they paraded by.

Awesome that she went along with the joke instead of rolling her eyes. :thumbsup2

On the other hand, she missed the Beverly spoiler.

Ooh, bonus!

And we got our Magic Bands!
(Oh my God... is there anything better than when you get those puppies????)

I don't know what's better, getting them in the mail or getting them at Disney.

It was like walking into a brick wall.
Or like this:

Ouch, that was disturbing. I hope she was ok. :worried:

And it was one o'clock in the morning!!!
What the heck was it going to be like during the heat of the day?????

Oh, I'm so glad to read about the weather there in August since that's when we're going. It seems like you've lucked out so far with not too much rain.

"Well." She said. "That's probably a good call.
The 90s are full right now with South American basketball teams."

:rotfl::rotfl2:Maybe she should have told you that first.

Then I continued. "It won't be the first time I've slept on the floor."
Sympathy card played... pick it up! Just say "Grand Floridian". You can do it!
"Okay." She said. "Just have your bags packed and call housekeeping before 10am."

Not even a cot?

"Hi." Said a man I didn't recognize...
but I recognized what he had with him.
"Did you order a cot?"
"No." I said. "But I could sure use one."
"Well, don't tell anyone you got it then,
because they charge extra for it. Good night."

Oh, good. Disney can certainly spare a cot for screwing up your room, can't they?

So I got myself ready to go, then woke Kay up at 9:30.
And she didn't complain. She just got up.
I must admit that I was a little surprised by that.
Pleasantly so, actually.

Good girl!!

I headed over to the gift shop, hoping to find something.
And lo and behold... they had moleskin!

They must make a killing on that stuff.

But since we were being moved, I had to bring them along.

It's such a tough decision. The extra lenses make such a difference in the photos but they are a pain to carry.

Love this!

And it didn't take long for our first rude guest interaction.

That was fast.

"I can't navigate this! Don't you have some place for handicapped people?"

Oh my gosh. I could navigate that with my SUV.

Not too far off the posted wait time,
but a far cry from the 15 minutes the app had told us.

Was it always that inaccurate?

She finished her ministrations, straightened her skirt and
continued nonchalantly on her way.

I would have probably gone to the restroom for that but maybe it's just me. :confused3

She didn't keep up with the drumming, but since then she has learned,
or is learning to play, two types of clarinet, the saxophone and the guitar.

Impressive. :thumbsup2

Gorgeous shot!

I'd never read any of the Br'er Rabbit stories to her.
Hmmm... come to think of it, I've never read any, period!

I just took a silly quiz online and I got the cartoon this is based on wrong. Never heard of it. Can't remember now what it was.

We were seated right beside the painting.

Looks like the same seat we had last April.

(And yes, I'm sure you've seen photos like this before...
but it was still cool to see it in person.)

DSC09584_zpszym1ksn2.jpg

I haven't seen this. Very cool!

No, Kay wanted a yard stick full of coloured sugar.
You know why?
Because it's a yard stick full of sugar.
There was a contraption that dispensed different flavours of powder.
Basically drink mixes without the hydration.
Makes sense. We were both hot so why get something liquid?

So was it a pixie stick or an actual drink mix?

The photographer didn't seem thrilled with the picture,
so he made us take a more "traditional" shot.

Gee, I can't imagine why? :rolleyes2

Kay ordered the Fudge Mudslide while I had the No Way Jose.
Which (after the Sink) was #1 on my list.

The Kitchen Sink doesn't appeal to me, I think it's because it's such a mess, but the No Way Jose is definitely worth the special trip. :thumbsup2

Really... who has time for this?
It's a huge commitment in time, and it's dated.
Or so I've heard.

It is definitely dated but I can imagine that it would be a good break from oppressive heat if you'd been out all day or to get out of the rain.

But right off the bat, I immediately noticed just how bad
the film is.
Lots of dust and stuff.
But...

Guess that will get cleaned up soon.

Once our car released us, we wandered over to the computers.
Wow.
Times have changed.
I remember taking a family photo here ten years earlier
and emailing it to family.
And said family was thrilled and amazed!
What brilliant new technology!

Now?

Embarrassingly dated computers.

Still, Kay did design her own Figment and emailed it off to Ruby and a friend...
who were completely mystified when they got a cartoon dragon in their email.

We've rode this every trip and I never saw these. Hard to believe how much there is to miss at Disney.

I recently read an article where wine experts were given
two glasses of wine.
One from an expensive bottle, the other from a cheap one.
And as you can expect, they all lauded the expensive brew
and denounced the inexpensive.

I totally agree. I drink a lot of wine and rarely spend over $10 a bottle. Most of the time it's perfectly fine.

She likes animals. And I'm okay with that.

I don't know why you wouldn't be.

She didn't buy anything, however.
She was just getting ideas.
Let thoughts percolate a bit.
Getting her ducks in a row, so to speak.

I can't wait for my kids to gain a little maturity with age and learn to think about things before they spend their money. It has to happen sometime, I hope.

Oops!
"You broke it!""
"Nah... it's just got a little crack in it. Maybe if I remove the base."
<Snap!>
"Okay. Now it's broken."

I blame it on the drinking.

Be honest. You broke it on purpose so you wouldn't have to carry it, didn't you? ;)

When it was over, I turned to the young lady and reassured her
that the ride was over.
"Oh." She said. "It's not the drop I'm afraid of... it's the ghosts."

I'm afraid of squirrels. And they're not nearly as scary as ghosts. ::yes::

Not one of you told me that Sunshine Tree Terrace and Aloha Isle swapped spots!
I should deduct 100 points from everyone!!

IMG_1046b_zpsvu8z8nzu.gif

I think they turned out pretty good, don't you?

Awesome. I have to check these out next time I'm there.

Yeah.... no.
Apparently 100 credits is like a couple of tokens.

So annoying.

So without any further blather from yours truly,
here are some of the shots I took around Pop.
Hope you enjoy!

I did. Beautiful!

Bonus questions, round 9!

1. AM or PM? Do we get out of our room in the morning or afternoon?

2. We have an ADR... in Epcot. Third time's the charm? Where is it?
(Hint: Not Biergarten or Teppan Edo)

3. Speaking of Epcot, what's our first ride?
(Hint: Think outside the box.)

4. Of our three Epcot FPs...
a. Which Tier one FP? Soarin', Test Track or The Land?
b. Do we use 0, 1, 2 or all 3 of our FPs?

Good luck!

Can I still jump in here?

1. PM
2. Coral Reef
3. The Three Caballeros
4. Test Track, 1

Happy New Year! Hope you had fun.

Oh, you kids these days!
You don't know how good you've got it!
When I was your age, I had to walk 10 miles through 10 feet of snow to get to work.
Uphill! Both ways!

Both ways? Is this where you worked?

And here I thought you knew me.
I'm crushed. Crushed!

Well I've realized that if I guess the opposite of whatever I would do I'm right more often, so I do know you!

Oh! Geez, that makes total sense!
Next time I'll get her some stilettos for park touring.

YAY she could be just like Gloria on Modern Family. The episode where she wore stilettos to Disneyland was hilarious!!

Nah. She's an angel. She's probably looking at Bible verses or something.
Yeah. That's probably it.

Yeah, just keep telling yourself that :) Because that's what most 15 years olds do.

You two would get along just fine.

We could hang out in the store in Japan buying stuffed animals and eating nutella from a jar.

Just a belly button piercing.
And I think it's kinda cute, so I didn't mind.
And I don't understand your comment about waking
up in women's clothing.
That always happens, so...

I didn't know! I approve of this completely.

Except maybe she thought I would be there.
Then she's pretty smart.

And... why exactly was I not invited?

Well I didn't know that you liked wearing women's clothes. Now that I know that you'll most likely be invited to the next party. Don't forget the Alice wig and a cute ruffly dress.

I sometimes feel bad for newbs at WDW.
They have no idea of the sticker shock they're about to have.

Oh I know, I still get shocked when the bill comes in under the door on the last day. I hate the magical express papers more though.

Did he own an arcade? Or just collected them?

He had a coffee shop he kept them in. We thought it was just a cover though and that he was actually a drug lord.

Oh, COME ON now!

Haa haa!!! I had to write that because whenever someone is late my Mom always says "can you email them to see where they are?" instead of texting them.

Never thought of that.
Still think she'd miss her meal ticket more than anything.

Well yes, now that you took away her awesome trip to New York, I'm sure of that. She probably had it all planned out in her head. The places she wanted to shop and eat, the bands she wanted to see, bands who never play where she lives. Now she gets to go see a moose instead. And not even the cool moose from Walley World. Just a regular stinky one.

Standing by.

here they are... you need these for your Haunted Mansion room.

Sorry they're blurry I cropped them from a bigger picture we took in the gift shop.

 Oh, you're happy with that, are you?

Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was my favorite birthday present before I got a bunch of money.:rotfl:
If you give me birthday points I'll move it back up to my favourite spot again.

Although as soon as you give out 40 points to the person who guessed your bus wait time, the rankings become irrelevant. 40 would take almost anyone to the top.

If this contest gets much closer, it'll become verrrry interesting.

Haa haa yes it could and you would love every minute of that. Except see bus comment above...

Hmmm... technically, dozens a day.
But 95% of the time it's just that the pilot
or dispatcher forgot to notify us
and it's resolved with a quick phone call.
Air travel is very safe.
It's pretty rare that we have to send out
Search and Rescue.

You're lying, you're actually a psychology student and this trip report is one of your projects. You're hoping to turn it all into a reality show one day.

Why do I think you probably know many, many ways to make a man cry?

Because I'm pure evil and now I can add "stealing toys" to my long list.

So we went out for dinner on New Years. My entree came with some sides, including brussels sprouts. They were cooked in pure syrup so they tasted mostly sweet. Underneath that I could tell they were pure poison. I can see how you would have hated them. I took the last two and threw them under the table, just for you.
Imitation vaguely resembles flattery doesn't it? I had to do something different because just like they guys, I don't do "dearest, sweetie or darling"...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I can't believe it's 2016! I've been waiting for this for what seems like soooo long. 2016 marks the BIG ONE and the year for Disney. ::MickeyMo
Still afraid where all the money will come from. But I'm determined to be there Oct 12 for anniversary even if it's a shorter stay then hoped for.

Hope you had a wonderful holiday spoiling your girls and a good time off.
I enjoyed the bonus Xmas eve day off. Even if I didn't earn extra pay like planned. But it all worked out in the end. Told husband I didn't have to work, maybe we could go get the gift cert. we thought about for parents. He reminded me he had hair appointment (FYI-for what little hair he has. was thin when I married him. hair doesn't make a man. You get it-right?) I was schedule to work @2:00am so anything after that was sleeping in. So we decided to leave around 5am for a less then hour drive to....Don't judge...a casino! Parents are retired & I know sometime in the next 12 month they would go. Some fun money for them. Got there at 5:40 and hardly anyone there. We didn't have much time to play, but since was there we would. They had a promo going on and at 6:00 (20min after getting there), my name was called!! I won $250. Guess not working turned out fine. After hair, got last minute things done and for once was rather relaxed going into Christmas Day. Had a nice four days off. Then back to the craziness of work. You'd think it would slow down after holiday but it hasn't. I could clue you in on job(don't want any haters/complains out there) I sort letters and packages for the US. Couldn't believe how much we had just yesterday 1/2/16 so many parcels and lots of on-line ordering still going on.

I mean, we had the VIP bus package.
Didn't it apply to all Disney transportation?
That's extra. Guess you didn't read the fine print
We approached the Standby entrance to SE,
which was empty.
oops on that guess
Hi Mr Pkondz SR. How was the brussels sprouts today?
and checked in at Teppan Edo for our ADR
There's points! Food looks yummy. I'd like to try something like that don't know what hubby would think
I did not... repeat NOT, touch the cooking surface with my finger.
(I'm curious. Let me know if you get (or don't get) that reference.
Bonus points whether you do or don't get it. I just wanna know.)
I kind of get it. Let's say that I've spent a couple of days looking over TR because I know you meantioned someone doing this. Actually thought it was Steppsister(not her) when she went to a similar restaurant but really didn't find it there. The only thing I found was on your solo trip page 13 near the end was the following:
Thumperman's wife guess Teppan Edo
You responded with: I have you down for one Burnt Nebo special
All I know is that Nebo was like a mentor to you and was popular here on the DIS. (plan on going back and maybe reading some of his) Sounded like he had little trouble with the hot surface.
I swear someone made a comment about it before. One of the reason I didn't comment yet because I thought I'd find more info.

Kaki-Gori!
aka: Shave Ice.
Really?! I didn't guess because it didn't meet your shaved ice standards. But I forgot about heat. Do what you got to do.
Nine of you celebrating.
Eighteen... not so much.
Dang! For some reason the first face character I thought of was Mulan. Thought since you were at TE you might run into her. Later I went Duh, Mulan is China!
Most of you guessed we'd have a cronut.
That one was easy. If you didn't offer Kay to try one of the sugary treats that would have been bad parenting. And you can't be accused of that since you already have her at Disney
but Kay's feet were smarting
I'm sure they weren't dumbing. Nothing changes what you want to do then sore feet
"Dad, is there anything you want to play?"
Well, I'll be darned.
That was nice. Maybe she didn't want you to look like the lonely dad with nothing to do in the corner. Or figured she could beat you on something and never let you live it down.
you might be familiar with a game called Galaga.
It used to be one of my favourite games.
Yes I do.
here are some of the shots I took around Pop.
Hope you enjoy!
Too cool!!:cool1: Always enjoy your photography skills. Makes me want to stay there just to walk around at night

Yeah." She said. "But you were gone for an hour!"

Awwww... the little peanut was worried about me.
Or maybe she was worried how she'd get home without me.
Probably the latter.
I'm sure she was worried. or bored. We worry about them so much, nice to see the foot on the other shoe once in a while. That's what I feel when my kids tell me to drive safe when going to work in bad weather It's a awww moment.
Let see if I can gain some points back

Pkondz! :wave2: I just binge read this report off and on all day. :faint: That should earn me some bonus points, no?

Colleen!! You're here! :welcome: to the TR!!

And to answer your question... Yes.

Huh. That's all it took. That she's sure. :rolleyes2

I think he was just trying to make a point and would've let us go regardless.
Still.... lesson learned.

truth. At least she let you know ahead of time, my boys just steal my food with no warning. :rotfl:

Awesome that she went along with the joke instead of rolling her eyes. :thumbsup2

It's a crapshoot every time. Sometimes I get a grin, sometimes I get a :rolleyes2

Ooh, bonus!

::yes:: And it worked out great later, as you saw.

I don't know what's better, getting them in the mail or getting them at Disney.

Either. I think I'd like to get them in the mail,
so we can start wearing them as soon as you land at MCO.

Ouch, that was disturbing. I hope she was ok. :worried:

Nope. Dead.

Oh, wait. I'm thinking of something else.

Oh, I'm so glad to read about the weather there in August since that's when we're going. It seems like you've lucked out so far with not too much rain.

One day to go. There will be rain.

:rotfl::rotfl2:Maybe she should have told you that first.

I lost a little trust in her at that point, that's for sure.

Oh, good. Disney can certainly spare a cot for screwing up your room, can't they?

It's funny that I didn't think of it myself.
And nice that she thought of it herself.

They must make a killing on that stuff.

They have to. They don't make any money on anything else.

:rolleyes1

It's such a tough decision. The extra lenses make such a difference in the photos but they are a pain to carry.

And after carrying them around, I only used one or two.

Love this!

Thanks! :)

That was fast.

Yep. I was wondering if the whole trip would be filled with rude guests.
Luckily, I don't think we encountered any until... well...
You'll just have to wait and see.

Oh my gosh. I could navigate that with my SUV.

It was pretty ridiculous.
Having spent a (short) time in a wheelchair though,
I can see how you might get spoiled and expect shortcuts.

Was it always that inaccurate?

I don't know. After that, I never consulted it again.

Gorgeous shot!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I haven't seen this. Very cool!

It's not super rare, but it is kind of a holy grail kind of picture to get.
So I was happy.

So was it a pixie stick or an actual drink mix?

It was a hollow plastic tube and you could fill it from dispensers filled
with different flavoured powders.

Gee, I can't imagine why? :rolleyes2

I know. I was happy with the first picture we took.

The Kitchen Sink doesn't appeal to me, I think it's because it's such a mess, but the No Way Jose is definitely worth the special trip. :thumbsup2

I wanted to have it more for the sake of saying I'd had it.
But there was just no way we were going to put much of a dent in it.
As it turned out, I'm sure glad I went with the Jose instead.

It is definitely dated but I can imagine that it would be a good break from oppressive heat if you'd been out all day or to get out of the rain.

::yes:: A few people have said just that.

Guess that will get cleaned up soon.

True. But then people will whine about how they miss the old movie.
Whatever. I'll withhold judgement until I see the new one.

We've rode this every trip and I never saw these. Hard to believe how much there is to miss at Disney.

Right at the exit.
Not worth stopping at, though. Believe me.

I totally agree. I drink a lot of wine and rarely spend over $10 a bottle. Most of the time it's perfectly fine.

I like that "most of the time".

I don't know why you wouldn't be.

Good point.

I can't wait for my kids to gain a little maturity with age and learn to think about things before they spend their money. It has to happen sometime, I hope.

We taught ours that when Kay was 4 years old.
That was our first visit to the world.
We told both DDs that they should look first and think about it.
And no matter what or where it was,
once they made up their mind, we'd go back and get it.

Worked quite well.

Sometimes they'd grab something,
other times they'd wait.

Be honest. You broke it on purpose so you wouldn't have to carry it, didn't you? ;)

I really didn't! I was sure the stem would pop right off.
Oh, it came off, all right.

I'm afraid of squirrels. And they're not nearly as scary as ghosts. ::yes::

So would that prevent you from going on a ride like Splash,
where you might see an animatronic squirrel?

I did. Beautiful!

Thanks again! :)

Can I still jump in here?

Of course!

1. PM
2. Coral Reef
3. The Three Caballeros
