Canadian Buffoon's Disney With a Teen Vacation - 08/13 - The Wrap

That's a lot of hours! Hope you got some rest and take care of yourself.

I've caught up somewhat.
Unfortunately it'll get erased since I'm off tonight at 11pm and up for work at 5am tomorrow.

Do you have a long commute to work? Please drive safe if your tired. That would worry me!

Define "long commute"
I don't consider it long. It's about a half hour drive.

It used to be a lot longer.
We lived in the city, but I worked in another town.
Commute was two and a half hours. One way.

I really don't know what the proper amount of sleep is. My shift is 4am-12:30pm. I volunteer for overtime before my shift, so sometimes I have to be at work @2am. Half hour drive so alarm goes off before 1am. I've been known to fall asleep on couch by 8, wake up and then go to bed by 10. So sometimes I'm only actually in bed 3-4 hours. I'm asked if I nap in afternoon. No, never got in the habit because I liked spending time with the kids. I could go on school field trip and help with class parties.

Ew. Yuck. No thanks.
I'd hate to have to try and hang on until 12:30.
Especially with a 2am start time.
Don't envy you one little bit.

But I hear you about the kids.
I'd stay up for them too some times.

That's what I'm thinking. Just as long as you don't.

Nope. Not me.

I don't understand why the DIS keeps running in media. Son was home @ Thanksgiving, wonder if he was doing something.

That's the answer.
Always blame the kids.

 You don't hate me. Thanks

I don't! I really don't! :goodvibes

Definitely take it as flattery! (I'll take points)

Because I'm home by 1-2 in the afternoon, I usually do what I need on the computer. After dinner, I'm tired, watch a little TV and fall asleep. That's why I'm rarely on here at night. I check on all the nighttime banter when I get home. Something to look forward to after work.

Well, then you can see this tomorrow... which is now your today.
This is giving me a headache.

Stalkerish, no. Obsession, maybe:rolleyes1

:lmao:

OOPs I did it again. This was a double post. I can be impatient and hit post relpy twice.
Hope this works, coming back and deleting everything

It worked. Everything deleted.
Well, except for that incriminating tid bit that got left over.

But I deleted it for you.
(After making a copy for black mail purposes.)

Thank you! :) My husband knows that I NEED to get one! This past trip I got it from at the Poly in a souvenir bowl. They gave it in a separate cup, which was nice so I didn't have a sticky bowl to carry around!

Nice. What did the bowl look like?

RIGHT?!!! I was so confused! why call it dole whips, if it's not pineapple????

Dole is pineapple!

I know. I need to call or write or something. We are going back to Vero this sumer ( just booked a few days yesterday!!!) so I need to get on it so I can have one while there!

Dear Vero Beach. Please ensure you have pineapple Dole whip.
No more of this silly vanilla business.
Oh, and get it done before I get there in July.
Thanks.

Try it! It makes it even more yummy! and on a hot day, it is so refreshing!

I will!

Oh GEEZ!!! Blonde moment alert!! I can't believe I did that!
Ok, I'm going to re-guess Test Track.

Noted.

bahahaha! I actually had these thoughts when this was happening.. Like really? they are good? no way! haha :)

Lies!

Yes, very true! Done right, they are delicious! You should try them sometime... Maybe just one... and maybe chocolate covered? haha

chocolate%20sprouts_zps8yinlvep.jpg

ME TOO!!!! I can now eat cabbage if it's cooked in stuff, or cabbage rolls, but otherwise, bleck!

So... no to coleslaw then?

Hey, Still hilarious! And you're fine, expect maybe a little sleep deprived as of late! ;)

Yeah. I blame everything on sleep deprivation.

Eh, like I said, it's hilarious! and better than a moldy oldy rotten smell getting ya busted!

When you put it that way.
I'm sure my folks wouldn't have found it quite so amusing.
And then they would've killed me.

Eh, what's the big deal?

You can sleep when you're dead.

Which may be sooner rather than later if you keep this up.

Says the dude who in less than nine months will be sleeping... not at all.

Yeah.. missing out on the things like bickering, fighting and trolling. :rotfl2:

 Yeah, well... I guess that part I don't mind missing out on.
But I seem to not be up on the news as much as I used to.

That's actually not as bad as I expected.

That's per photo. Just in case I didn't mention that.
But I didn't think it was too bad.

:comesupforwater:

Hello, Friend.

:crawlsbackintoGollumlair:

 Hi Liesa!

(At least in 36 hours it'll all be over. For 3 short weeks.)

Then you can let your brain take a little holiday!
Three weeks. Better than no weeks!

Wow this thread moves fast!

It does? I hadn't noticed. Too busy trying to keep up.

Good thing I keep checking in every chance I can!

As you should. As should everyone. :snooty:

You may or may not realize that I'm on vacation now, but since I'm just sitting in the Hyatt at MCO watching NCIS, it's not like I'm missing out on great park experiences or anything by hanging out on your TR.

I do realize. I saw your last post (replied to it a couple of minutes ago.)
And... Whadya mean by that?
Are you saying my TR is not as good as great park experiences?!?!?

Sheesh!

I'm gonna try and get in my replies while I'm gone, since I don't want to miss out as we're getting down to the nitty gritty. The new DIS makes that easier since it saves your reply while you're writing it.

Be careful with that.
It does... and it doesn't.
You'll go back to your reply only to see that it's now disappeared.

That save feature has saved my butt numerous times.
But it's also bit me in the butt once or twice, too.

Anywho just wanted to let you know I'm still here. I hope you have gotten some rest after all that work. I hope to get some good sleep tonight as well!

I did get some rest.
But that'll be gone come morning!

Will you hate me if I let it slip that I’m one of the few people on earth who actually loves Brussels sprouts?

Nope. Not at all. My Dad loves them and I'm still talking to him.
I really don't mind if others like them.
I just don't want to come anywhere near them.

Only waffles? Surely you could have gone for something more exciting than waffles at Disney?

Nope!
Well, maybe if I'd read your TR first, things would've been different.
But I had read others' TRs and they had Pop waffles.
So I pretty much had to.

Saving the best for first – I like your style!

::yes:: And given a choice it would be middle and last too.
If Disney allowed you to pick the same FPs, I think this is what I'd do.
Rope drop Peter Pan, then three FPs for BTMRR.
(Since you don't need a FP for HM.)

I’m pretty much going to order you to stop there next time – if that’s ok with you of course.

 Yes, ma'am.

So you’re lack of planning and research is costing me points? I won’t stand for it!

You don't have to! You may sit.

I’ll stick with Kay and the plain old Dole Whips thanks…

Nope. Go with the float.
Kay doesn't care for Dole whip. Float or otherwise.

The people in the next cubicle are starting to wonder why I’m talking to myself…

Psst. Snow. Here's a little hint.

They're not "starting" to wonder.

Yes I do. Spookily good in fact.

Thanks!

To me it looked a lot like the frozen Butterbeer at Universal. Which I, like Kay, didn’t enjoy – far too sweet for my liking!

It's okay. Much better on a hot day.
It's really just frozen apple juice (not the "froth" part).

Of course you will. Any smart person would.

::yes::

I’m getting worse and worse as this as we go on. Not sure I want to play anymore….

Oh, sure you do.
Here. I'll throw in a couple of pity points, just for you.

  • 7 minutes because monorails aren’t as cool as VIP buses
  • I’m sticking with the same response I’ve said at least 1,000 times already – Via Napoli.
  • Two each would be four guesses wouldn’t it? So I’m going to go with School Bun, Pretzel (Cheese filled), Kaki Gori and Ice cream from France.
  • Mission Space – Kay makes you try the Orange side.
  • This is tough – you could have seen Aladdin as he was walking into the Morocco Pavilion, but I think it is more likely you saw Alice when you were walking through UK.

Noted.

Well, for the three of you that are still reading...
For the two of you....
For you...

Here I think you're writing this just for me and I find all these others who are reading along! Well I NEVER! Hrumph!

Well, I'm not that patient.
If I hadn't been in a few years, I would've told her
"I'm heading out"

I face this battle on a constant basis. At DL I don't mind taking things slow. At WDW I don't mind going a little slow, but I often find myself stuck in the roomorning and I don't want to be the inappreciative spouse, but then again it's Disney I don't get to see much. Even exploring the resort is exciting and often that's what I do.

I believe it was on day three or four that Ruby revolted.
Her happiest day that trip
was when she stayed at the resort and did laundry.
I'm not kidding.

I know it's different because we have DVC points and "have" to keep going back, but I actually plan laundry day into my trips. It doesn't hurt that the machine is in my room and this next trip I'm making meatloaf, mac and cheese and green beans while we stay in for the night. But I can kind of relate. I've also been on Star Tours and Hyperspace Mountain four times in the last month.

I don't mind vegetables now. Some I even like.

I like some, but it seems we have differing tastes.

I'd eat canned beans (flavourless... probably why I ate them.)

Blech. Not flavorless. They taste like the formaldehyde they are stored in!

Carrots were okay, even though my Mom's preferred way of cooking
all veggies was to boil them until they were reduced to mush.

Raw carrots OK. Cooked to mush ick. My mom was on the other end of the spectrum. She would randomly go vegetarian on me during my childhood. Still she only purchases produce at the farmer's market and ate the leftover cruidite from Thanksgiving as her lunch one of the days while visiting.

Broccoli? Blech.

With enough butter or cheese, I think it's good!

Cauliflower? Double blech.

I agree with you here!

Don't get me started with asparagus.

Oh man, roasted in olive oil with salt and pepper, delicious!

And then there was.... Brussels sprouts.

I may have only tried them once. They tasted like cabbage. I've heard when cooked with bacon they are ggod, bit I have no experience. Fran won't let me bring them in the house.

"You're not leaving the table until you've finished your plate!"

How horrible a pronouncement that is!

It is. My mom was nice. She learned that often children with a predesposition to a dislike of a particular food often has an allergy to that food, so actually after a few years of trying to keep us at the table until we finidhed, she gave up. I think we also outlasted her. We were stubborn .

My cat. My loyal, loving cat...
Had thrown me under the proverbial bus.

As loving as they are, they will unwittingly do that.

But to this day...
When I think of Disney.
I think of TV trays, Sunday night dinners and... Brussels sprouts.

Who woulda thunk?

Pop waffles.

Yay!

Well, considering it was my first real breakfast at Disney....
Uh.... possibly ever... Yeah. They were good.

Really????? We have a few must have Disney breakfasts! But not must have every trip.

"You know." She said. "The VIP bus package really is a must."

We need to invest in that! I can remember two excruciatingly long waits on our last trip that doubled your current total wait time.

Her finger worked!

Dang guessed that wrong!

Hopped on a train for Frontierland!

Missed that one too!

Why is that sign showing a hand pointing...
WITH ONLY ONE FINGER?!?!?

Well how do you point? I only use one finger. :confused3

But admittedly, I didn't know what "waffle fries" were.

Like wha?

Not one of you told me that Sunshine Tree Terrace and Aloha Isle swapped spots!

I don't think I know where either of these locations are. I've only had Dole Whips once in either Disney park and heck if remember where I got it in MK.

Go ahead. Say it out loud. "I want one"

I want one.

We were passing by HM when we decided to pop into Momento Mori.
This was the result of that detour.

That's kinda cool! We are planning a HM theater room in our house and these would make great portraits. I wonder if they could make them all lenticular like you did.

I think it's wonderful that Disney has so many animals to cull...
er, collect from. Don't you? Doesn't it warm your heart?

You know way back, there was this guy who was a friend of Walt's. He was a hunter. He tried to give Walt some of these kind of Trophies. Walt wouldn't take them. The guy died and left them to him in his will. Eventually they made it into a room at a restaurant at DL, the room was called the Trophy Room. Recently this room was lost due to a remodel and was taken over by kitchen space in the newly redone restaurant. I wonder if any of the trophies made it to Gaston's.

Still had fun though. But I'll take BTMRR over it any day.

Me too.

(Say you're astonished (feel free to paraphrase) and get free bonus points!)

I'm normally that literal, but I'll play along and paraphrase.

OMG, You've got to be kidding????? Really????? No way! I never would have guessed! !!!

DISNEYMOON10121991 – 116 points
jandlinz – 116 points
Saturn23 – 105 points
franandaj - 101 points

Yikes! At one point I was on top and now I'm trailing by almost 20%!

1. How long until the next monorail?

So I'm guessing that you are at the express monorail and not the resort monorail and that's the one you want us to guess on. They probably have two that go back and forth so I'm gonna guess 6 minutes.

2. Where's our World Showcase ADR?
(Hint: It's been guessed at least once before.)

I'm gonna say Teppan Edo because that's whereI'd like to eat.

3. We get some snacks in Epcot! Two of them, each.
What are they?
(ie: pick 2 snacks)

Cronut, caramel marshmallow swirl

4. We do one ride in FW. Which one?

Test track

5. We see one character by happenstance. Any idea who?
(Major hint. Not a princess. But a face character.)

Aladin

Hello!!! I've been trying to catch up - I see I missed an update. I had read over the holiday but was using my phone for a hotspot, so saving on data. When I got home, I came back to a week from you know where at work, so I've been too exhausted to look at the DIS. I'll be back with comments.
ANNOUNCEMENT! I FINALLY HAVE AN UPDATE DONE ON MY TR - PLEASE COME BACK AND READ!

Here I think you're writing this just for me and I find all these others who are reading along! Well I NEVER! Hrumph!

Who are these people???

:rolleyes1

I've also been on Star Tours and Hyperspace Mountain four times in the last month.

:faint:

I like some, but it seems we have differing tastes.

I agree with you here!

It's different now.
Now I like broccoli and asparagus and can eat cauliflower.
I actually have a recipe for puree cauli that makes it taste pretty good believ it or not.

I may have only tried them once. They tasted like cabbage. I've heard when cooked with bacon they are ggod, bit I have no experience. Fran won't let me bring them in the house.

You have a smart spouse.

It is. My mom was nice. She learned that often children with a predesposition to a dislike of a particular food often has an allergy to that food, so actually after a few years of trying to keep us at the table until we finidhed, she gave up.

Nice.

I should've told my Mom I was allergic to Brussels sprouts.

Except she probably would've dragged me to the doctor and proven me wrong.

I think we also outlasted her. We were stubborn .

As loving as they are, they will unwittingly do that.

"Unwittingly" my foot!
She knew what she was doing!!

Ya like that do ya?

Really????? We have a few must have Disney breakfasts! But not must have every trip.

I have zero must have brekkies.
I usually skip breakfast at Disney.

We need to invest in that! I can remember two excruciatingly long waits on our last trip that doubled your current total wait time.

Well, the trip's not over yet...

Dang guessed that wrong!

Missed that one too!

Sorry about that.

Well how do you point? I only use one finger. :confused3

Walt specified that all CMs must never point with one finger as some cultures find that offensive.

Like wha?

Wha?

I don't think I know where either of these locations are. I've only had Dole Whips once in either Disney park and heck if remember where I got it in MK.

It used to be close to the bridge near the Treehouse.
Now it's behind Aladdin's Carpets.

I want one.

Of course you do. I do too!

That's kinda cool! We are planning a HM theater room in our house and these would make great portraits.

A HM theater room???
Now that's cool!

I wonder if they could make them all lenticular like you did.

Hmmm... what do you mean by lenticular?

That's a cool story. Never heard that one.
I'd like to think that they ended up somewhere at least.

Who wouldn't!?!?

I'm normally that literal, but I'll play along and paraphrase.

You'll be the first... :sad2:

OMG, You've got to be kidding????? Really????? No way! I never would have guessed! !!!

Shocked you, didn't I?

Yikes! At one point I was on top and now I'm trailing by almost 20%!

Well giddyup then lady!

So I'm guessing that you are at the express monorail and not the resort monorail and that's the one you want us to guess on. They probably have two that go back and forth so I'm gonna guess 6 minutes.

Hi Tammie!

I've been trying to catch up - I see I missed an update.

Sorry about that.
But you're here now!

I had read over the holiday but was using my phone for a hotspot, so saving on data.

You didn't comment because you were saving on data?!?!?
Am I not worth the expense?????

When I got home, I came back to a week from you know where at work,

Paradise? A week from heaven?
Am I close?

No?

so I've been too exhausted to look at the DIS.

I get that. After I posted that last update, I was wiped out and didn't reply for a few days.

I'll be back with comments.

I'll be here.

ANNOUNCEMENT! I FINALLY HAVE AN UPDATE DONE ON MY TR - PLEASE COME BACK AND READ!

I saw that... and I did!

Canned green beans?

:rolleyes1

Oh heck no! Fresh of course. I'm having groceries delivered for dinner along with breakfast foods and new for me, even wine!

It's different now.
Now I like broccoli and asparagus

I can agree with this.

and can eat cauliflower.
I actually have a recipe for puree cauli that makes it taste pretty good believ it or not.

Blech! I tried this when we were on a crash weight loss. No amount of bacon made that mushed cauliflower taste like mashed potatoes!

Nice.

I should've told my Mom I was allergic to Brussels sprouts.

Except she probably would've dragged me to the doctor and proven me wrong.

And then you never know you could be allergic. But then she probably would have taken you for shots every week to make you immune.

Well, the trip's not over yet...

Is this foreshadowing of long waits to come?

I have zero must have brekkies.
I usually skip breakfast at Disney.

I must have breakfast at Disney. I would run out of fuel without breakfast.

Walt specified that all CMs must never point with one finger as some cultures find that offensive.

Oh yeah. I forgot about that one.

It used to be close to the bridge near the Treehouse.
Now it's behind Aladdin's Carpets.

I just remember a window in a distressed painted building where I got one. It was like 5 years ago. Don't remember much.

Hmmm... what do you mean by lenticular?

You know the changing Portraits in the HM. In ours they are in the hallway outside the elevator as you go to board. In MKs HM I think they are in the ride. Those are called lenticular portraits. We have a number of those, both HM and NIBC overlay ones.

A HM theater room???
Now that's cool!

All we need to do is get our stuff out of our old house, get it renovated and rented and then we can start building.

That's a cool story. Never heard that one.
I'd like to think that they ended up somewhere at least.

They might have gone back to the family.

Well giddyup then lady!

I'm trying! Did I tell you how handsome you look today?

Oh heck no! Fresh of course. I'm having groceries delivered for dinner along with breakfast foods and new for me, even wine!

I'm actually not a fan of fresh beans.
But again, that's mostly because my Mom likes to cook 'em to death I think.

Blech! I tried this when we were on a crash weight loss. No amount of bacon made that mushed cauliflower taste like mashed potatoes!

They ain't never gonna taste like mashed taters.
But this recipe at least had them tasting good.
Unfortunately, the only ingredient I remember is the cauliflower.

And then you never know you could be allergic. But then she probably would have taken you for shots every week to make you immune.

I'll take the shots if it means I don't have to eat the sprouts.

Is this foreshadowing of long waits to come?

Nah. I'm just messing with you.
I won't say if the wait times from now on are short, long or somewhere in between.

I just remember a window in a distressed painted building where I got one. It was like 5 years ago. Don't remember much.

Yup. That's the old place. The new place is much bigger.

You know the changing Portraits in the HM. In ours they are in the hallway outside the elevator as you go to board. In MKs HM I think they are in the ride. Those are called lenticular portraits. We have a number of those, both HM and NIBC overlay ones.

Ah, okay.

All we need to do is get our stuff out of our old house, get it renovated and rented and then we can start building.

Oh, is that all?

:lmao:

They might have gone back to the family.

I'd be okay with that.

I'm trying! Did I tell you how handsome you look today?

No you haven't. Go right ahead!

Another captive here checking in for the morning report :)

First off, to answer a week old question about my being in Dubai...

No way! That's too cool!
Is this your first time there?
Yes, this is my first time in Dubai (still here, by the way, going home at the end of the week). It's a nice place, if a bit on the expensive side. I've seen nearly every make of luxury car in the last 10 days (I'm not a "car guy" but I'm sure that would impress someone). I did manage to get away from my training course over the weekend and do an interesting desert safari, complete with dune bashing in a Land Cruiser and camel riding. I even sported the local head gear to mark the occasion. And if you'll forgive the intrusion, why don't I hijack your trip report for just a moment to post a couple pictures because, well, why not...

upload_2015-12-7_13-29-48.png
upload_2015-12-7_13-31-36.png

Yes, I did ride the camel after, which was actually not as easy as I thought it would be. You know the saying what goes up must come down. Well, to get started, you sit on the camel when he's lying down (as above). He stands up with his front legs, then his back, so you're at an angle when only one pair of legs are up. Not so bad on the way up, but going back down with the front legs first, I nearly tumbled head over heels off the beast! Oh well, an experience for sure. Anyway, now back to the important stuff...
Well, considering it was my first real breakfast at Disney....
Uh.... possibly ever... Yeah. They were good.
I don't know what Disney does with their waffles, but they are awesome. I try making them at home, but they never turn out quite as good.
I mentioned to Kay that I'd read that the fries here were really good.
But admittedly, I didn't know what "waffle fries" were.
I've heard they do some kind of poutine at the Outpost. It sounds like something to try, just to say I've had it.
Not one of you told me that Sunshine Tree Terrace and Aloha Isle swapped spots!
I should deduct 100 points from everyone!!
Oh well, there goes the contest! As much as I do enjoy a Dole whip, I have to confess that I like the citrus swirl a little better. Blasphemy?
I'd like to say she loved it, but...
Well, this is a Disney TR, not a Disney movie.
She didn't.
She liked the foam a bit, I think.
But wasn't a fan of the liquid part of the drink.
I have seen many mixed reviews on this drink. It seems to be a real love it or hate it deal. I had always planned on trying it, but it keeps getting pushed farther down my list.
"At the Chapeau Hat Shoppe".
Something you probably already know, but since no one told you about Aloha Isle, I'll mention something about the hat shop. If you find the old telephone, when you pick it up you can overhear a "party line" conversation of a lady ordering a hat..or dress?..for her daughter.

Now, for the bonus questions.

1. How long until the next monorail?
3 minutes
2. Where's our World Showcase ADR?
(Hint: It's been guessed at least once before.)
Via Napoli (I'll try it again)
3. We get some snacks in Epcot! Two of them, each.
What are they?
(ie: pick 2 snacks)
Strawberry shortcake from Sunshine Seasons and ice cream from Artisans de Glace
4. We do one ride in FW. Which one?
Test Track
5. We see one character by happenstance. Any idea who?

Mary Poppins

Nice. What did the bowl look like?

http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2014/...lable-to-celebrate-disneylands-59th-birthday/

Dole is pineapple!
CORRECT!!!

eh.... If they aren't prepared in that same way I initially had them, I don't try it.. fear it won't be as delicious lol

well.... Not EXACTLY what I had in mind! hahaha!
Maybe more like rolled in caramel, bits of bacon ( real bacon, NOT Bacon Bits [GROSS]), and THEN covered in chocolate? Now there's an idea!!

So... no to coleslaw then?
OH, EWWWWW.. Nope, nada, nine, no, no, no.... can't stand coleslaw or the smell...

Yeah. I blame everything on sleep deprivation.

Me too! hahaha ;)

When you put it that way.
I'm sure my folks wouldn't have found it quite so amusing.
And then they would've killed me.
YES, I think the cat finding it was the better bet and funny so they wouldn't be too terribly upset with you!

Boo to a rough stretch. . . but I think it is the only reason I was able to make it here to participate in this update!!! Hope things are smoothing out a bit.

I know that I am supposed to say 'I'm astonished' to earn some points for something . . . but I can't for the life of me remember why at this point. So there you go. WAIT! It had something do do with brussel sprouts!

Looks like a great day! I'm glad Kay's finger issues seems to have cleared up. (that sounds so weird to read!?!?)

I actually only kind of like the Dole Whip Floats. They are good, but pineapple isn't' really my thing. On the other hand, I love LeFou's Brew! (Though I have found that I can't drink it quickly- better or a slightly longer time) Something for everyone I guess.

Alright, my round 8 guesses.
1. 7 minutes until the next monorail.
2. Chefs de France
3. School Bread and some caramel treat from that shop in Germany.
4. Test Track
5. Peter Pan

I've always asked them (always in the dead cold of winter)
"Why didn't you settle in a warmer spot... like Florida?"

That really is a mystery.

 I have no doubt!
I can actually see a time when you'll be able to FP the bus.

Won't that be fun, when you've been waiting 20 minutes at the bus stop (well, not you, that never happens to you, but for us normal people) and then a bus pulls up and they say, "Sorry, FP+ only."

Can't make it too easy for you.

And when I say "you", I mean you.

Great. There go my chances.

Except she didn't have one.
She's not a fan.

Weird kid, I know.

Those genes must come from the lady who enjoyed laundry day.

Is this code? Are you being held against your will?
Blink twice for yes and once for no!
Never! I was truly being genuine. You put a smile on my face with your charisma and charm.

But of course.
Aw! You make me blush.

There's two of you?
Be still my beating heart.

And if you don't mind my asking...
Kay's birthday is just a few days before Christmas,
I suspect she doesn't enjoy Christmas as much because of that.
Did you like Christmas when you were a kid?
We're fraternal twins. Growing up she had brown hair and blue eyes. I had blonde hair and green/brown eyes. We won a contest in Twinsburgh one year for the most opposite twins.

My mom always says how special it was for her to have twins on Christmas. In fact, her and I are lucky to be alive. She was due on Christmas Eve with a single baby. My mom told the doctor she didn't feel like there was just one, as she had two previous single births. The doctor assured her it was just a big baby and would do my mom's first ever ultrasound on Dec. 26. Needless to say she delivered my sister first and the doctor thought she was done. Well he figured something was up and thought my legs were tumors. He wanted to cut them off and then realized before cutting that they were legs. My mom claims the doctor was elbow deep yanking me out feet first. She lost a lot of blood and had to have a couple transfusions. She reacted to the blood. I think they used whole blood (?) back then. Anyways, my mom was in bad shape and I aspirated meconium that went unnoticed until my beloved uncle rushed in to the nursery saving me. It's all quite dramatic. We hear this story each Christmas from the entire family. I guess it's nice to celebrate your birthday always with your family. My one aunt always, always gets me a card that is special for Christmas birthdays. I love it even now as I'm fully grown. It is hard though. A lot of people forget because they are consumed with their own families, and rightfully so. I've even made my own birthday cake in the last couple of years, since everyone is so busy. I wouldn't change it for the world though. One person who says Happy Birthday on my actual birthday really is a true kind heart and makes my Christmas feel even more special. Oh, and thank you Jesus for my father, my mom wanted to name us Valentina and Vanada, my grandma wanted Holly and Noel. My dad vetoed. I was named after Lindsay Wagner by my dad (I spell it Lindsey though) and they chose Lauren as my sister's name. So sorry for the long story. Hope it didn't bore you to pieces.

I like your Mom's uncle!
I don't think I'll tell her you said that.

Walt specified that CMs never point with one finger as some cultures find it offensive.
Always point with at least two fingers or the whole hand.
Huh. I have noticed that, but I guess it never clicked. Thanks.

We won a contest in Twinsburgh
Do you live close? If so, we could have a DIS meet. I live in Elyria. We could discuss our love of Ponzi and his TR's. Of course that will only take a minute!

Ponzi, I noticed you had been absent, thought about sending out the bat signal. But you posted the next day so no need.
How do I get this VIP bus package? I can't tell you how many times we've waited forever for a bus!
I did know my DH was weird before I married him. Not exactly HOW weird but then it was too late!
Yeah, I just keep getting sick. I'm feeling better. Now DH is sick.
Off today to visit DM and friends for three days.

"What?" You exclaim in astonishment. "How can this be!?!?"
(Say you're astonished (feel free to paraphrase) and get free bonus points!)

I’m astonished, surprised, and amazed. Disney and Brussel sprouts, say it ain’t so!

Ya gots yer salad, yer meat, yer potatoes and... yer veg.
Um isn’t salad full of vegetables?

But to this day...
When I think of Disney.
I think of TV trays, Sunday night dinners and... Brussels sprouts.

 This story kind of reminds me of my oldest daughter and sandwiches… that one didn’t end as well.

"You know." She said. "The VIP bus package really is a must."
:rotfl2:

With wonder in our hearts, we set out and rode BTMRR.
I love FP.
I don't know what the wait was, but it looked long.
Suckers!!!

Hey now, I was one of those suckers!!!
I could tell you what the holdup was but … you’ll just have to wait and read about it on my TR ;)

But afterwards she said she was disappointed because
from her front seat, she could see the rails
and always knew where the turns, etc. were.

I never noticed that.

1. How long until the next monorail?

2. Where's our World Showcase ADR?
(Hint: It's been guessed at least once before.)

3. We get some snacks in Epcot! Two of them, each.
What are they?
(ie: pick 2 snacks)

4. We do one ride in FW. Which one?

5. We see one character by happenstance. Any idea who?
(Major hint. Not a princess. But a face character.)

1. My instinct is to say FOREVER because we had so many monorail troubles when we were there, but given the luck you’ve had I’ll say 5 minutes.

2. Via Napoli

3. Cronut and Churro

4. Soarin

5. Mary Poppins

I grew up in Cleveland, on the east side. All my family still lives there. My DH and I met in high school, but after college he took a job with one of the big three. We live in Detroit now, but visit family during the holidays. I'd love to have a Dis meet! How cool is that!
