yeah that has happened to me a few times. Thankfully the closets in our new house allow for all clothes to stay out year round.
And your complaining?![]()
Just had all the luck with the pushy sales people huh?
Yay for a daughter whose price conscious

OH, the Horror!!
Hate to break it to you, but that's imported sand. No one cares if you take it. Only Black sand beaches are natural.
Yay for free parking!

Exploring the Road to Hana! (Maybe if I keep guessing it it will eventually be right!)

Baked Mauna Pua! (that may be spelled wrong.)

Something involving a plate and some macaroni salad.crazy2: why folks like that stuff
)
Meh, the "white" sand beaches are imported sand anyways. Its only the black sand you have to worry about.
Wet pants! Oh, the horror!
And it wasn't even bright red!
First, let me apologize to anyone who got the pairings wrong because they changed to my answer (the girls go off by themselves). PKondz: Please feel free to take points from my total and add them to anyone who originally had the right answer. (I KNEW that one was going to come back to bite me!)
I'm never going to win anyway- my strategy was to guess Spam until I got something right and that's already happened. So I already feel like a winner!![]()
My new guesses:
1. Leave for breakfast: 6:45
2. All-day excursion: Snorkel trip (although I vaguely remember reading that you didn't do this.)
3. Kay's new best friend: Manta ray
4. Local baked treat: Malasadas
5. See it? Free peanuts in the sky!
6. How many beaches? 7
7. What do you eat for supper? Poke
Why would you order something you don't like?

7. It's either roast pork or poke (or both)
But she must have a phone too, right?
Tell her to call you when she's ready to go.
Will you marry me?
Ah. Well, that would explain why ours... isn't.
Ruby won't allow it.
How many times did you watch that?
That would be what... about 30 years ago?
I've heard stories of tourists mailing back bits of lava
after having bad luck.
That hike, though. Looks like about 5 miles, one way?
Don't know if you've read my "Just a silly little TR".
It's about our trip to Oahu with a quick visit to Aulani.
I should have the links fixed pretty soon.
All the other TRs are fixed now.
No, I just pull out the phone and start checking the DIS!
I said the same thing to Naked Jim last Friday when he told me his bag was packed for our WDW trip next week!
I got tired of getting yelled at for things I didn't remember where I put them. Now she just yells that she wants to torch the house because it's such a mess!![]()
Before or after I showed it to Fran?![]()
30 years ago I don't want to tell you what I was doing!
They had all kinds of exhibits in the lobby about people who had mailed back rocks they took.
I think it was more like 2 miles one way. I'm not sure how we got back. Somehow I think we hitched a ride somehow because I don't think we walked back.
I didn't even finish the solo TR. I can't even keep up with all the TRs that are currently going on!![]()
I meant to mention when I saw this that my brother is/was really into motorcycles and Harleys for a long time. He has quite the collection of Harley Shirts from all over. He even had a Biker Wedding. At the time he belonged to a cycle club and that became the theme of the wedding. It was a little strange for those of us who aren't into bikes but it was cool that ALL his friends who had bikes went to the house and they had a big motorcade/procession on the way to the ceremony, there had to have been 20+ Harleys in a line, 2 by 2, going down I-95 in Philadelphia. I wish I had a better picture or even one of the actual procession, but here is one of some of the bikes in front of my Dad's house. On the way, we popped into the Harley Davidson store
where I bought a shirt and a poker chip.

OMG!! Too cute!! Do you have a name for her yet??
Shopping. Oh, how I loathe thee. Let me count the ways….Ruby wants to go shopping.
That means, going into every and any store
that I wouldn't enter if you paid me.
Part of the ritual of Canadian hibernation, I think? And yes, it never fails that right after winter boots are put away, old man winter comes knocking. Case in point, just this past Wednesday in my fair province no less than 49.4cm of snow fell (breaking records for St. John’s). This, after last week I was raking my lawn in a t-shirt.Because Ruby likes to be organized.
When spring comes, she puts all the winter stuff away.
And vice versa in the fall.
I hate that.
She puts the winter stuff away...
and then we have a snow storm.
She puts the summer stuff away...
and we have a heat wave.
Well, he seemed willing to take off $200 US, so that’s about the same as taking off $1000 Canadian, so….He thought I was going to buy it for $1,000.
I quickly had to dissuade him of that notion.
Dear Lord, please bless me with the day that my daughter thinks $15 is too expensive."Fifteen dollars." Came the reply
"Do you want it?" I asked Kay.
"It's too expensive." She said.
Too expensive?
Getting wet? In the ocean. What kind of evil sorcery is this?! Liquid touching fabric? Oh the horror!! Make it stop! (I think I need the Smarties song again to help me forget)Wow. That would've been tragic!
Getting wet... at the ocean...
A moment later... the inevitable.
"Aigh!"
"What!?!?"
"I got wet!"
Awesome picture! Boy, do I ever regret not taking that Hawaii trip in university! The teeth were formed during Maui's last volcanic lava flow.
The lava reached the ocean and the waves and wind
pushed the lava into these vertical "teeth".
It really does look like you're in a dragon's mouth.
Absolutely fantastic. Almost worth framing. And as we drove, the sun began to set.
I have no idea when she took this shot,
but I think Kay got the picture of the trip here.
1. 7:15Next round:
1. What time do I leave the room for breakfast?
2. We launch on an all day excursion.
What is it?
3. Kay makes a new best friend.
Figures... She's an animal lover.
What is it?
Hint: Not a dog or cat.
4. We try a local baked treat that Elle thinks
is better than mine! What is it?
Hint: It's not been mentioned before.
5. Did you see it? Bonus points if you did.
6. How many beaches do we visit?
7. What do I eat for supper.
Hint: think local.
Well little miss is still small so we'll see if this still holds true once she gets bigger.Lucky.
Other than our bedroom closet (a walk-in)
our closets aren't big enough for four season storage
for four people.
Might be nice.Sheesh! What more do you want?
A seatbelt???
Well huh.Um.... Er...
Okay.
I thought "Really? Wow! That's crazy!"
Then I thought... yeah... that is crazy.
We've seen a lot of beaches over three visits.
Including some pretty remote ones.
So I did some checking...
Here ya go:

1. 7:15
2. Seeing a volcano
3. Chicken (I’ve heard that chickens run free a lot in Hawaii)
4. haupia cake (yes, I shamelessly admit that I googled Hawaiian baked goods – perhaps thinking too far outside the box)
5. Yes! I saw your nuts! (ba dum chee…thank you, I’ll be here all week, try the veal!)
6. One
7. Pig roast

Might be nice.
Well huh.I just know what DH has told me from what he was taught in school growing up on Oahu. Maybe it's just there that there are imported sand beaches. I know it's a thing because it's the same in Key West. The coral Reef barrier does something to prevent the waves from bringing sand in. In Key West, all beaches have sand imported from Bermuda.
Edit: DH has looked it up again, and has now informed me that apparently (and this was new news to him as well, so you actually taught someone born and raised in Hawaii, something about Hawaii) that while there USED to be importation of sand (from west coast mainland) in the 20's and 30's importation was ceased in the 70's

Depending on the size of the next update,
we may or may not get to all the answers.
Good luck!
Coming up... the thing we still talk about.
Hi folks. Shout-outs a little later, got stuff to do first.
But wanted to share with ya'll something that happened last night.
Picked up a little something.
Sorry for the pic quality. Low light and using my iPod.
Kay seems pretty pleased with the purchase.

And if you're curious, she's about an 8 weeks old Keeshond.

I am going to change my guesses to a volcano excursion and Kay befriends a turtle.
