I tried to book one of the hotels listed Canadian at par, which reads the offer is
good till end of March. To make a long story short had a lot of trouble, hotel denied
knowing anything about this. and then told me they would have offered me this, except
the hotel is sold out due to convention. I called back again, had no problem with the same
time frame not sold out, but still manager did not understand this offer. I do have reservations
but on my reservations it does not say anything about Canadian at par, it only shows the rate
as USD rate. I have called the hotel got the run around and have emailed them to send me something on paper to confirm this, and have also contacted the Orlando/Kissimmee centre where this was posted.Have not heard back from either. Has anyone else had this problem.
The way I read this Canadian at Par is if it shows $49.00, when you pay with your credit card
they would convert it and your bill would be approx 31.00 usd.
thanks

Hi There,
Your calculations sound right to me, but I would be a little leary about getting
to your room and them not honoring your "AT PAR" rate. Definately get a confirmation
and if the hotel you picked doesn't - pick another one- I believe there was quite a
list of hotels "at par" I'm sure one of them will give you a good rate.

we had similar problems last year with the supposed CDN at par...but it was worked out to our advanatage when we were given some coupons to "make up for the difference"...

and to boot the company that we dealt with had no idea this was being posted on the kissimee/st cloud web site ( they are not listed on the website now after we brought to their attention that they were being "offered" )

we also tried to get a room using this site but when we phoned to confirm....the rate was no different than if we had just phoned without going through the convention web site...

do not think US companies really understand what AT PAR means.....to me it means a 49$ US rate is offered to canadians for 49$ CDN...but you also do not get good exchange rates on the "credit card" charge

.... we must also remember exchanging to USD in the states is different than BUYING US dollars in canada an exchange rate that may sound good in the STATES is really worse than what we would pay if buying the USD in canada

Just to let everyone know the outcome of trying to book hotel at par. I emailed the hotel sales manager, asked to have confirmation show proper rate, they showed it as $49.00USD, she emailed me back and now my reservations shows the rate of $31.00usd. I also received a email back from the Orange County Convention and Vistors Bureau from the Director of Partnership Marketing, saying that if I had any problems that they would book the hotel for me, and at some of the hotels all of the staff were not informed of this promotion. He also said he would be interested in knowing which hotels were giving me a problem. He says that if the rate reads $49.00USD at par youwould pay with your credit card about $31.00USD.

thanks
