Hi, It's been a very long time since my Aug 2005 trip so..

Some Family members is heading to TO to visit CW and we were debating it but my thought is that I would much rather put that $$$ into my savings towards amother trip to WDW. We are a family of 5 so costs can creep up there no matter where we go, have to stay in a hotel, tickets (how many days???), we drive so gas is minimum. Is it worth it to go to CW or do I hang on for another year or 2 years even to go back to WDW?

:confused3

Absolutely NOT. Save yor money for Disney. They're not in the same league!

If you were already coming out to Toronto, I would tell you to visit, but making a trip from NB for the sole purpose of this attraction is nonsense. Don't get me wrong, we enjoy CW for a once/year trip but we're locals. And, the whole time you are there, you're thinking "Disney does it so much better." Besides, we tend to use our airmiles for the tickets, or order through CAA, so we're really not spending so much.

Save for a Disney in a year. You'll never regret that decision :)

Don't waste your time or money!

I totally agree with the other OP!

I live an hour from CW and I can't be bothered to go....it is such a depressing theme park. Food is pitiful, the park is usually dirty, roving throngs of rowdy teens. Some of the rides will put you in traction.

That's true, annual passes are fairly inexpensive so there are alot of teens around. Unlike Disney, there is quite a distinction between kids' rides and all esle. "All else" being thrill rides that most children are not tall enough for. And most of the kid section is for kids to ride only, so there are not many rides for the whole family.

You didn't mention your kids' ages, but that might be an important consideration. You may want to check the height requirements:

I love that Walt wanted parks where the whole family could enjoy their togetherness :)

DO NOT GO TO WONDERLAND

It is a total waste of money. If it rains there is nothing to do, the food is awful and the park is overpriced.

Save for Disney it will be so worth it.

I grew up in Toronto and went to Wonderland on a regular basis. It's a great park if you live nearby and just want somewhere to go for the day. However, I would never think of it as a vacation destination. Save your money for another disney vacation. (I'd actually question whether WDW costs more than Wonderland once you add in hotel, travel, tickets & food. Yes, you can spend more at disney if you shop, stay in a deluxe resort, etc. But, go off-season and plan heavily and wdw can easily be in the same price-range as Wonderland.)

What a great way to put it...not a vacation destination...

NO WAY!!!!!!!!    WDW is a much better holiday spot than CW!;) Save those dollars and head to Florida!

I'd have to agree, save your money for another trip to WDW. We also live 1hr from CW and really have no desire to go. We use to take our DS 14 once a year. With tickets, food, gas and parking would usually run us $200 for a family of three. We would rather use that money for our trip to WDW this summer than go back to CW.

Poor CW!! What critics we have amongst us. The problem is you are comparing apples to oranges!! I worked there for 15 years at the beginning of my adult career. It's fun to take the family (DD7 and DD10) a couple of days in the summer but I agree it is pricey (use your airmiles to get the tickets and always pack a lunch) and the summer is so crowded now with young people (season passholders) that you are usually in 45 minute lines for anything.

But in saying that, it is somewhere my family and I will go once or twice a summer just to play in the waterpark or take in a few rides. If comparing it to Cedar Point, or another amusement park, it holds merit.

There is not one thing that can compare to Disney - theme attraction vs amusement attraction and CW is well aware they are not a destination Park.

If you are coming to Toronto anyways, it's a fun place for kids and you should try to find coupons or get your tickets through other means (airmiles, corporate discounts, Tourism Toronto).

I hope that both fit your budget!!
