Canada vs. America

We have Walkers crisps, you have Lays crisps. I think they might be the same though. Look at the logos.

^^ ya we have walker's crisps AND lays chips.....it confuses me! lol

i've never tried walker's so i don't know if they taste the same or not.
walker's seems to have some REEEALLLY strange flavours though!

Smarties in the U.S are Rockets!
I was in a store yesterday and they had packs of Rockets that looked EXACTLY like ours but they were called Smarties.
weeeeird.

Oh and that show's called Instant Star I think??

Yeah so weird. If someone asked me for Smarties I'd give them chocolate lol.
Rockets are so yummy too :)

Yeah, I think it's kinda stupid, hence why I don't watch it or know the name.

Pretty sure we don't have Walker crisps here in NB.

Very strange flavours. Atm, they've released 6 new flavours for a voting thing where the best flavour becomes permenant.

You can see a full list here:

Maybe I'm just weird but I go to Canada all the (I live 15 minutes away from the boarder) time
I hardly ever notice a difference
I've seen milk in bags up here etc..
The major differences for me is you use Canadian Dollars, and the road signs are in KM...
I mean to me there just isnt much at all lol
I was there on Friday and Vancouver and theres maybe a few store difference etc... but I just dont notice much lol
I mean I guess maybe its because I live right on the boarder and we see Canadians every day and I use the same word terminology as them all the time lol
Maybe its because we run over there all the time its just nothing new to us I mean my parents just got back from Canada like 3 seconds ago (They just walked it the door)
So maybe its just because of were so used to Canadian things that we dont even think about it lol

From now on when I want to insult my friends I will call them a milkbag.

They are the same. Well at least owned by the same company (Pepsi).

Walkers is a snack food manufacturer in the United Kingdom best known for manufacturing crisps. PepsiCo has owned the Walkers crisp label in the United Kingdom since 1991 and distributes Lay's product via this brand name. Potato chips are known as crisps in the UK, where chips refers to chipped and fried potatoes often resembling French Fries, although chips in the UK are also often thicker than French Fries. The logo for the British version is notably similar to the American brand, featuring a red ribbon around a yellow sun. The other Frito-Lay brands are also distributed through the Walkers label.

Hey i'm from Northern Ireland and ive noticed quite a few differences between us and Americans.

Bathroom or restroom is known as the toilet
Gas is known as petrol/diesel
Your vacation is known as holiday
Not sure when you get off for your summer holidays but we get off late june
our year gruops are different too...
you start school
primary 1 aged 4/5
primary2-5/6 and so on untill high school at age 11/12 when it becomes...
year 8
year 9
etc.
Also when you are having a good time and joking about you say "you are having good craic"(pronounced crack)
Also i live in a smallish country village so my accent is quite "countryfied"
Like i pronounce window as "windy"

If i think of anyomre i'll post.

I notice a few differences between Canada and USA that weren't pointed out.

Canada have a Prime Minister
USA have a President

Canada has had a female Prime Minister (She wasn't elected)
USA has never had a female President

USA public voters nominate the leader of the Democrat and Republican political parties
Canada doesn't nominate the leader of the political parties

Canada has Provinces & Territories
USA has States

Canada votes for the political party Liberal, Conservative, Bloc Quebecois (which only runs in Quebec) New Democrats, or the Green party (there are smaller parties but those are the main parties)
USA votes for the President, Democrat or Republican (those are the main parties but there are smaller parties as well)

I don't know if this one is just an Ontario thing or if it is all over Canada....I think this is only a provincial thing.
Liquor is only sold in the beer store, or the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario)
America sells liquor in grocery stores and convenience stores

Canadian coins has the picture of the queen on them
USA coins has picture of there past presidents

I am not too sure about this but...
USA has $1 and $2 bills
Canada has $1 (loonie) and $2 coins (twoonie)

Thats all I can think of at the moment...
