Canada vs. America

I say pissed to mean angry sometimes. Maybe I'm just too americanised xD

Question time:- If I say cwtch (pronounce cutch or cooch whichever you prefer) would any of you know what I mean?

idk.. something welsh haha :P

We have whole milk, skimmed milk and semi-skimmed milk. I forget what it is in America though...

and the long-life stuff in cartons..

to be honest, i havent the slightest idea.
i know buying bags is cheaper than buying cartons here.
you get about 4 litres per 3 bags and it's about $5, but for the 2 litre cartons it's $3-ish.
i haven't a clue why they put it in bags though :confused3

we buy milk in gallons and half gallons. but we buy soda in liters. we also buy gas in gallons. i don't exactly know the conversion rate, but a gallon is more than a liter.

cooch is slang for female genitals in america.

and pissed means angry, or urinating. lol.

what does wicked mean to you guys?
Around here it's used as an intensifier.
wicked cool = really cool.

ya wicked usually means cool.
(it also means evil, but usually it's used for it's slang definition)
we sometimes use it as an intensifier, but usually it's just on its own
ex: "i got new shoes" "wicked!"

hahah...i don't usually say that too much anymore though, mostly younger kids say it around where i live.

oh, also another thing i discovered yesterday, it that americans have a huuuuge thing for vitamin water!! there are vending machines with vitamin water all over, and i went into target (which we don't have in canada either) and there was like...and aisle devoted to vitamin water!! and energy drinks! haha

hmm I always thought wicked was a boston thing. For us its usually followed by a cuss word though hahaa.

Yeah, the whole Vitamin Water and Smart Water thing is pretty popular over here.
People like to pretend that it's actually good for them, I guess. Haha.

I know in America the only popular Canadian show is Degrassi or some other shows on the N, Do you mainly watch American television up in Canada?

ya pretty much.
degrassi is probably our most(/only?) popular export.
i barely watch CBC, they have crap programming.

We have Canadian Idol, Canada's Next Top Model and stuff like that up there too. We also had Deal or No Deal Canada, Are You Smarter Than A Canadian Fifth Grader etc.

but we don't say fifth grade/sixth grade/seventh grade, we say grade 5/grade 6/grade 7.

We say Year 1, Year 2, Year 3, etc. We're also a year in front of you guys for education. I'm in Year 12, which is 11th grade.

I'm gonna go through this now.. but yeah.
Bags of milk are weird in my mind. We have them here in NB, but I don't like them.. we get cartons with caps on them. My brother can't get the capped cartons in Ottawa and this bothers him a lot.

Nobody watches Canadian programming. Just the comedy shows like Air Farce and This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Corner Gas sometimes.
A lot of people watch Degrassi and that show with that singer named Jude... lol I can't remember the name.

I will only drink the orange vitamin water sold at the Bulk Barn. VH20. My supervisor said I could get it at Costco in bulk, but I haven't seen it.

I find Hershey's chocolate to be salty and sometimes taste like vomit. Cadbury is much more milky and smooth. I don't think I'd be happy without cadbury.
We also have Skor Bars and Smarties.

As far as chips go... I love OLD DUTCH. Frig, they're life.

Smarties in the U.S are Rockets!
I was in a store yesterday and they had packs of Rockets that looked EXACTLY like ours but they were called Smarties.
weeeeird.

Oh and that show's called Instant Star I think??
