Here is the link so everyone can read the details https://disneycruise.disney.go.com/why-cruise-disney/experience-updates/canada-protocols/
Huh interesting. Where's the DCL quarantine plan if I test positive in the US (and need to come back to Canada)? It says that DCL will be helping with the quarantine plan.
- A quarantine plan should you test positive while in the country. (Note: Disney Cruise Line is finalizing arrangements with local hotel operators to provide options for isolation/quarantine should the need arise.)
This all seems like information to get INTO Canada, and not necessarily once we're already in Canada (prior to the cruise). So I'm wondering if we will need to do any testing or anything at the port on Embarkation Day. It didn't mention anything about that unless I missed it.
The US doesnt enforce quarantines, that is the difference. If tested positive at port, they send you on your way as you are in the US and the rules are different. Most people will get a negative antigen test before 10 days of first testing positive. Just take a second test.Huh interesting. I just meant that if I test positive after my cruise... Canada won't let me in until I've waited 10 days and got a negative result.
haha I wish! Disney doesn't test you to get off the ship in US ports. However I must have a negative test to put in the ArriveCan app to go home. Heaven forbid our test is positive. I booked our flight home for the day *after* the cruise just so that the testing part isn't stressful. Hoping they drop the requirement for fully vaccinated people asap.If they won’t let you in isn’t the only alternative staying on the ship? (Which obviously won’t happen.) Wouldn’t they have to make an exception for cruises?

lol Gotcha!Yes, right after I posted I realized I was assuming you were talking about an Alaskan cruise in Vancouver and edited my post lol.
You didn’t miss it - the Embarkation Day and Debarkation Day pages haven’t been updated for Canada yet. This all seems like information to get INTO Canada, and not necessarily once we're already in Canada (prior to the cruise). I think the Canada system requires each person to have their own account though. Don’t think that is Disney’s fault."For sailings longer than 72 hours, you will need to submit this information during your voyage or on arrival day. Wi-fi packages are available on the ship, and standard mobile device connectivity may be available in ports of call and ports of arrival. Disney Cruise Line will work with its testing partners to conduct the antigen test required at disembarkation into Canada for sailings longer than 72 hours"
This bothers me. So we have to purchase an internet package to submit testing to Canada's travel website. We shouldn't have to pay a bunch extra to submit a test. That should be automatically done by Disney.
Probably because Canada requires that info to go to your ArriveCAN account, and DCL can’t access it. DCL does offer 50mb (?) free wifi if you sign up embarkation day. So you should be able to use that. That should be automatically done by Disney.
