Can you walk from Epcot to the Boardwalk prior to the World Showcase opening for the day? I didn't know if that back entrance was open before WS opens.

Basically, I'd like to monorail over to epcot in the morning and walk over to the Boardwalk bakery before returning to epcot for the day. Will this be possible?

Defineitly justgo to the international gateway between France and England then a 10 min stroll along thec canal.You can also take a friendship launch from epcot to the boardwalk.daveb

Ooooops sorry I answered your title not thread I dont think you can get into WS before opening to do this.sorry daveb

I've never tried, but I have heard this is not possible. Going through Int'l Gateway in the morning, you'll be directed straight to Future World. Going from Future World to the Int'l Gateway, I don't think that's permitted. But if someone has done it and knows from firsthand experience, I'd defer to them of course.

O.K., but if I'm not able to walk, it sounds like I could take the ferry from epcot to the Boardwalk. Is that accurrate?

By the way, thank you for the quick responses.

The International Gateway opens at the same time as EPCOT. Once open, you can enter and leave via this gateway. From the Gateway you can walk to Boardwalk very easily, or as others have stated take a Friendship Boat.

Your best bet is a taxi, or

-> bus to Mk bus depot (or walk from Contemporary to MK bus depot)
-> bus to Boardwalk resort
-> Epcot

I regularly stay at the at the EPCT resorts (see signature) - just explain to the CM you are going to the resort and you will be allowed to pass. There have been a few times where we got to IG for 9am open, went on a few rides and left via the IG back to hotels before the offical open of the WS.

I've done the same thing. Canada and UK pavillions are not open, and there are CMs along the way to direct guests entering from the IG. There is a rope over the bridge on the way to France, so you can't go any further than the IG. But if you head that way, and tell any CM that questions you that you are headed back to the Boardwalk, you shouldn't have a problem.

You can go through the International Gateway, but the Boardwalk Bakery alone doesn't seem good enough to. The bakery in France is better in our opinion.

The walk is really easy not to mention very pleasant. We've stayed there and walked to Epcot via the International Gateway and really enjoyed it, and since then we've been at Epcot and booked dinner ressies at Boardwalk so that we can take the little walk, since it's so convenient.

However, if you're not up for the walk, you CAN certainly take the "Friendship" ferry from the Boardwalk to Epcot.

yes you can there are cast memebers around to make sure no funny business is going on i did it last year with my friends and there was a stand selling pastries in canada

Of course you can.

Disney would not allow guests to be able to ENTER from back there, then refuse them the ability to go BACK.
Most are staying at the premium resorts and DVC rooms back there.
Those guests need to be able to come and go at will during the morning.

So, as was stated, tell them you're heading to Boardwalk and stroll on to your destination.

An easy alternate would be to take the BUS to Boardwalk from MK, then buy your pastries and head INTO the Int'l Gateway.
MUCH less walking to take the bus directly to the resort, than walking from the front gates back to the Int'l Gateway, then returning.
