Quick Question. I've read that you can access the Disney Boardwalk section from Epcot, and on the map it also looks within walking distance to MGM. My question is: Can you cut through the Boardwalk and walk from Epcot to MGM, and how long of a walk it it? Thanks!

YES....yes of course you can but it also depends on who is in your party. I wouldn't make a 82 year old woman walk it. Although compared to the amount of walking you will do throughout your vacation it is rather miniscule. It should take you about 20 mins. But also remember you can take a friendship from the international gateway to MGM....but that stops at YBC and the boardwalk first...It is probably slower than walking but it is a nice ride

You CAN walk from Epcot to MGM but it's one heck of a walk. There is a path that goes from Epcot to the BW and then another path that leads you from there to MGM. It basically goes all along the water where the boat runs.. that would be your better bet from getting from Epcot to MGM.

Technically, yes, but it's quite a walk. International gateway to Boardwalk is about 20 minutes I would guess, maybe 4x farther to mgm?? My suggestion would be to walk or take the boat to the yc and then take the boat to MGM.

The Swan/Dolphin is the last stop on the way to the MGM. I would walk across the Boardwalk (a fun walk) and catch the boat at the Swan/Dolphin dock. The boat will go directly to MGM from Swan/Dolphin in about 10-15 minutes. It's only a 10 minute walk from Epcot's International Gateway to the S/D.

As others have said, you can walk from Epcot to MGM, but can you imagine walking that during the heat of the summer? Nope, me either. I would suggest the boat. Is is an easy and relaxing way to get between the parks.

Have fun!!!!

We did this on our last stay, but it was from MGM to Epcot. MGM was closing, and there was a very long line for the boat, so we decided to walk it. It was a pleasant walk and a neat little discovery (our first time doing this). I would definitely do it again. I'd say it was about 20 minutes. We're both young so we didnt mind at all. :earsboy:

We walk all the time and the Gateway to Boardwalk is maybe 7 mins and to get to MGM if cut throught the Boardwalk pool area it is about another 15-20mins to MGM at the most...the Entire trip isn't any longer then 30mins....and it's a nice walk...well maybe the summer it is too hot...

The Gateway to Boardwalk doesn't take more than 10 minutes, even at a nice casual walk. It's really not a bad walk at all - and on a nice day, it's a great walk!

We usually just take the boat, because we're lazy and like to sit - if you're not in a huge hurry, you can do that. If you catch it at the Gateway, you have to sit through all the stops, but when you're tired from walking all day you don't care =)

We've done it and we're old! It's about 20 minutes if you don't stop at Beaches and Cream for an ice cream.

I've done it several times. I find the best way for me at least is to catch the launch to Boardwalk, get off there and then walk about 15 minutes to MGM. I'm not a leisurely stroll kind of person though. Pretty walk.

I walk it a lot. If you walk at a good clip, it's faster than the boat.

I've done it during a mid-summer 90 degree afternoon, and I won't do that again. It was pretty miserable by the time I got there. But it can be a nice long stroll at night when it's cooler or during the winter. I would agree that it's about a 30 minute hike.

From my times walking it, probably about 5-10 mins from Epcot to the Boardwalk, and from there, 15-20 minutes to MGM. Total about 20-30 mins.
