If I am staying at CBR and want to go to the boardwalk at night, what is my best bet (using WDW transportation)?
Can I take a bus to Epcot or MGM & walk to the boardwalk?

The walk between Boardwalk and Epcot is a very short one. They do offer boat service in the event you are just too tired to walk, but it is much quicker just to walk.

There is a walkway to MGM, but my understanding is that it is a 10-15 minute walk. Not unpleasant, just a bit longer. There is a boat lauch to MGM as well. In fact the same boat goes from MGM, the resorts (Swolphin, BW, YC BC) and Epcot, making a loop.

It is a very convienient location.

Have a great time.

One thing I forgot to mention, is that if you stay at the BW much past the closing time of the 2 parks you will not be able to get back to CBR the same way. You will either have to pay for a taxi, or take the BW bus to DTD, and from there take transportation back to CBR.

If it were me, I'd take the bus to MGM and then walk to the Boardwalk. If you take the bus to EPCOT, you will need to enter the EPCOT park, walk through Future World and then about 1/3 of the way around the World Showcase to get to the International Gateway entrance. From the International Gateway, it is about a 5-10 minute walk to the Boardwalk area. IMHO, this is a much longer walk than that from MGM to the Boardwalk (about 20 minutes) . You would also have to use a day of admission to enter EPCOT (not a problem if you have a hopper pass and spent some time in one of the parks earlier in the day). You can also take the boat from MGM to the Boardwalk. You do not need to enter MGM to walk to the Boardwalk area or take the boat. Both options are pleasant walks.

If you stay at the Boardwalk later than the parks are open, you will either need to take a bus to DD and transfer or grab a cab. I agree with the previous poster - take the cab. The DD option often takes more than an hour.

Enjoy your trip!

Spoisal,

Don't go via Epcot unless you have an Epcot pass. The bus station is one side of epcot, the exit to Boardwalk (International Gateway between UK and France) is on the far side. Also, although Boardwalk is only a short walk from International Gateway, you have to add in the walk all across epcot, making it a long, long walk from the bus station.

MGM is a much better bet. You don't have to cross the park so don't need entry tickets. The MGM bus station is on the way to the Boardwalk path, so when you get off your bus, you are already part way towards the Boardwalk. When you get of the bus, just walk AWAY from the MGM entrance, along the canal. Keep the canal on your left hand side as you walk to Boardwalk.

Although Boardwalk is closer to the Epcot Park, it is much closer to the MGM bus station.

Best Disney way is bus to MGM. Besides walking from MGM, there is a boat that runs MGM-Swan/Dolphin-YC/BC-BW-Epcot and the reverse coming back. If you bus to MGM, you can walk to BW (20 to 25 minutes), take the boat to BW (20 to 25 minutes), or take the boat to Swan/Dolphin (7 minutes) and simply cross over short walking bridge to BW from there (1 to 2 minutes). The Epcot route will actually leave you a 25 to 30 minute walk as you need to go through Epcot (and use ticket to enter) to International Gateway exit near England and then walk from there to BW. Fastest way is simply to get a cab from CBR (and back).
