Hi Everyone-
We are staying at BW in April and my parents have decided at the last minute to join us. The rates at BW are more than they want to pay, but we want to be close so we can easily do things together. How close is CBR to BW? Can you walk?

Thanks!

It's probably a mile or two (I'm a really bad judge of distance), but there are no sidewalks and the Mickey Cops won't let you walk on any roadways without a sidewalk present. It's too far to walk anyway.

The best thing to do is just plan on meeting at whatever park you are planning on going to that day.

Have they checked the Swan or Dolphin for AARP rates?

I agree. Too dangerous and you wouldn't be permitted to walk. If you have a car, it's almost across the street -- less than 5 minutes door to door.

You may also want to try taking the bus to MGM and then getting on the boat to Epcot from there -- it's a nice ride and will take you right to the BW dock.

It is actually about 1/2 mile but they do not allow walking along the busy highways (and there are no sidewalks) which you would have to do to get to BW.

They might want to look into the Swan or Dolphin hotels. They are right next to BW and sometimes have very reasonable rates.

If they do stay at the C/B they can take the bus to MGM and the walkway from MGM to the BW is open and is lit at night. A very nice walk as well.

Well, I am sure that you could, but you really wouldn't want to! In fact, I am pretty sure it is not allowed.

They may want to consider staying @ CSR because it has a direct bus to the BW that either of you could use to meet up, visit in your rooms, etc... . Another option might be to rent a 1 bedroom BWV and split the cost, so you could all stay together. My parents & I almost did this, but decided to get 2 rooms @ the Dolphin w/ the tchr. rate because it was less expensive. Have a great time!:)

When we were at the Boardwalk, this bus only ran after 4 pm, so it would be a good idea to check before making plans that count on this option.

You may want to consider renting a car. Then you can drive and meet at their resort or vice versa and then take the bus or boat to the parks together. We've done this when family has stayed offsite. They just drive to our resort and we set a designated time and place to meet (the bus stop at your resort is usually a good choice). Sometimes you have trouble meeting at the park unless you are very specific about when and where because there are just so many people.

Another upside of having a car - you can drive to the other WDW resorts for dinner. There are some really great restaurants and trying to get there using the bus system is cumbersome.
