I was looking at some pictures on another travel site, and it looks like there is nothing that would keep us from walking over to the Poly (we're staying at the Grand Floridian) on the beach. I know there is a boat between the two, but a walk on the beach seems nice too, especially after dinner (thinking of doing the Aloha Dinner show). Does anyone know? If so, how far away are the two resorts?

It is not a continuous beach from resort to resort, but the walkway takes about 10-15 minutes depending on your pace and/or stride.

thanks for all the info...we are going to take a litlle stroll while we are there:thumbsup2

we did this on our honeymoon (10 yrs. ago) and while i don't remember every detail, i do remember this being a very nice and romantic walk!!! i would definitely encourage you to take the walk!

Great! Thanks for all the information...we'll be looking forward to an evening walk.

The beach is somewhat continous but it leads to the entrance to the wedding chapel, so I don't think you walk on the beach all the way from one resort to the other.

However as everyone has mentioned there is a very nice lighted walkway that goes from the Polynesian near Luau Cove, past the chapel, past the spa, and to the Grand Floridian near the themed pool.

When I took my wife to the Grad Floridian's spa to get a massage two years ago, I walked over to the Poly. It was five minutes, tops.

As everyone has said the walk is very nice but you mentioned something about the Aloha Dinner Show? You have to do this it is an incredible show and the food is awesome also the Poly is a beautiful resort to just walk around and enjoy the peaceful scenery or kickback in a hammock and relax while watching the fireworks from the Magic Kingdom.

Yes, I was just reading on other threads lots of good reviews on the Aloha Dinner show, so that's on our "must do" list. I'm looking forward to seeing the Poly!

The GF spa is so far over towards the Poly that i had the feeling that i was closer to the Poly than to the GF when i used the spa (and the GF spa is great by the way, if you haven't tried it out).
