Is it true as a Disney resort guest we are able to visit all other resorts, eat at their restaurants, swim in their pools and hang out on the beaches? We are staying at ASMovies and my kids DS4 DS7 want to go to a "beach" while we are there.

You can visit other resorts to walk around and to eat at their restaurants, but the pool is reserved for guests at those resorts. No pool hopping is permitted. There is no beach swimming at WDW.

Since you are staying at AS Movies, you are permitted to use the pool at All Star Sports and All Star Music, because they are sister resorts.

Your kids might enjoy Typhoon Lagoon for a tropical atmosphere.

You can check them out and eat at them but you cannot swim at them.

The 'beaches' aren't 'real' beaches.

It can be difficult to get to all the resorts without a car. You have to plan it out well.

If you have a car, then there will be a 3 hour limit to your parking there.

The MK resorts are fun to visit you can use the monorail or boats to visit them without a car. My DD and I enjoy doing this. It is fun to visit the resorts and grounds, and check out the shops, etc.

Yep, I don't disagree with you BUT if you want to get to a resort, not just a monorail resort, without a car, from your own resort, it can be tricky. I never said it wasn't possible.

Basically there are no buses that go from resort to resort so you have to plan out how you'll get to the resort you want to visit. It's a bit easier with a car. If you are at MK though and want to visit a monorail resort then of course, its easy. If you are at MGM or Epcot and want to visit Boardwalk or Beach Club, of course it's easy.

I meant going from resort to resort can be a bit tricky, not impossible.

Since pool hopping isn't allowed, you may want to be cautious in the resort touring that is allowed. It can be hard for little kids to understand that they can't swim there. Particularly since some of the Disney hotel pools are very exciting to young kids (the Volcano slide at the Poly, Storm Along Bay, etc.)

Tell me about it.

Teh girls love visiting the other resorts. But evidently when you are camping in a tent for your holiday--the last place to take them is the coveted Polynesian and their pool area.

I had one upset preschooler who didn't want to go back to the tent.

Usually it isn't a big deal--I guess except when we are camping.

BAD Mommy! :teeth:

And time consuming too. :)

We visited all of the resorts to collect pennies & quarters. Even with very careful planning it took 2 days. The first day we must have been sprinkled with pixie dust because it seemed the bus we needed would pull up as soon as we walked up. The second day, everything that could have gone wrong to cause delays - did.

Visiting the resorts was still one of our favorite parts of the trip.

There is no swiming allowed in the lakes...and u cant swim in other resorts pools...some resorts even check for room cards at the pools

A friend and her DD15 will be joining me next week.
While staying at VWL Im planning on taking them on a monorail resort tour - most likely the night we have dinner at O'Hana's
While staying at BWV we'll be walking around the BW checking out those resorts
So little time, so much to do!
