Can you use your room key to charge tickets?

I know I've charged everything else this way but I wasn't sure about buying tickets at guest services when I get to the park. I also know there is a limit you can charge to your room key. Does anyone know what that is?

You can charge $500 at a value, 1000 at a moderate, 1500 to a deluxe. When you reach those limits they charge your credit card. Why not buy the tickets at your resort when you check in?

Tickets are the one item that Disney will take payment upfront for. So, if you charge them back to your room, payment will be taken immedietly against the credit card that is on file.

Personally, I'd recommend just buying the tickets when you check into your resort. They can sell you ANY ticket, with the exception of an Annual Pass.

Isn't it chaeaper to pre-order your tickets? I thought they gave you a bit of a price break if you order a head of time.

I think this policy may vary by where you purchase the ticket. If you buy it at the resort, you get charged right away. If you buy it elsewhere (like at Guest Relations using your room charge) you don't.

I went to WDW in December and stayed at ASMo, checking in on the 8th and out on the 15th. I intended to purchase an AP but didn't want to put it directly on my Disney Visa since my closing date was the 12th. If I could delay the charge for 4 days, I have an extra month to pay for it.

The value resorts policy on room charges is $500 limit, then your charge card gets charged and a new $500 limit begins. I explained to the front desk CM what I wanted to do (charge the AP to the room) and why I was doing it (to delay the charge from hitting in this statement). I asked for a $1000 limit since I knew the AP would take over $400 of it alone. She went into the back and came out and said that it couldn't be done. I politely explained that I knew it could be done since I had in the past had higher limits on the room charge at the All Stars (true!). So I asked to speak to the front desk manager. She left again and when she came back, she said that she could now give me the $1000 limit.

So I got my AP and never exceeded the $1000 during my week. I got a single charge on my Visa from the resort bill that included the AP cost and didn't hit my statement until the 15th.

GoldenOldie - that's exactly why I asked this question, I wanted to have the extra month because my closing date is actually 2 days after we arrive. I'm only buying two of the 3 day FL res passes for my husband and daughter since my son and I already have annual passes so it won't be a huge amount to charge. Do they also charge you for your room immediately or on the day of check-out?

The room is charged at check in.

Safetymom's correct. Any unpaid balance of your room reservation is always charged in full at check in. This amount does not count against your credit line on your resort ID because Disney will charge your card immediately for this.
