Can you use your child's own life vest/flotation aids in the hotel pools/water parks?

DD will be barely 4 when we go in October, and we plan to spend a lot of time in the pools and water parks. We have a boating trip also coming up, which we'll have to have a life jacket for DD. Should I bring it to Disney too? Are they permitted in the pools/water parks. I know our local water park only allows people to use "their" life vests, so that's why I ask. TIA!

I think the rule is that it has to be US Coast Guard approved. If I'm wrong, someone please correct me.

If the life jacket is USCG approved, it will say so somewhere on it (usually inside).

We took DS Scooby Doo one a few years ago to Disney. Got it at Target on clearance for $5. No one every said anything to us, but we only went to the pools. (I say pools because we used it on a few trips. We aren't pool hoppers. ;))

We have always used our own without problem, usually just arm floaties, noodles or small inflatable tubes. They also have life vests you can use free of charge.

No, it doesn't have to be. We do use a USCG vest any time we're in open water, but we use a cloth Speedo block vest for swimming pools. My kids always liked these better because they are cloth and don't stick to the skin.

You can use your own vest. This year I've also seen kids using those new PuddleJumper designs, and the lifeguards didn't object.

Pretty sure the answer is yes at the pools and no at the water parks. I know I've never seen anything other than Disney issued at the water parks. But, I didn't ask them specifically, so can't be 100% sure. :goodvibes

Sorry for the mix up! The city pools here in town require USCG approved life vests, I must have been thinking of that.

The Puddle Jumper things are USCG approved - they look really cool!

As of last week, Blizzard Beach had no problem with our Speedo cloth vest. (It is a zippered vest, not a flotation swimsuit.) We've been using the same model of vest in WDW pools and at the WDW water parks for 10 years.

Good to know.:)

This is good to know, because my DS uses a Puddle Jumper and didn't think of bringing it. It really works good.
