Sorry...this is a long question!

We are going to DW with my hudband who is attending the Lotusphere conference in January and prefer to stay at the YC/BC as we did last year. The special conference rate rooms are already booked, so dh booked a room at the Swan, $269.

When the next set of codes comes out, are the accepted at SW/D?

Now we are wonding if we should do one of the following:

1. Keep our reservations and apply the codes when they come out (if you *can* at sw/d)

2. Cancel and book a regular room at YC/BC at $289 and wait for the codes to come out. Will we be able to apply the codes after we have already reserved the room? The risk with this is that we might get stuck with the original rate, which is really higher that dh needs to be charging to his company account.

3. Wait until the codes come out and then book with the code. The risk with this is that we may not get a room that late, and there are only certain resorts that are providing transportation to the conference (at the SW/D).

What would you experts recommend we do? Is there another option that would be better?

Thanks in advance!!

~Lynn

Most Central Reservation specials do not include the Swan and Dolphin...so you might want to consider that- the other resorts in walking distance are the Yacht/Beach club as you mentioned and the Boardwalk - check the Villas too, sometimes you can get a good price on a studio and they are BEAUTIFUL!!

Check out Glo's unofficial S/D FAQ at the top of this forum. It has great info on the S/D, including discount dates for January. You should be able to get a good rate with an Entertainment card then. You would need the card at check-in, not when you make reservations. Just call the S/D & re-book at the lower rate, we've done this before & the reservation people have always been great about it. You can always book the YC when (if) the January codes come out & cancel at S/D. Have a great trip & welcome to the boards!

If you are a nurse or teacher you should be able to get discounts also. Then you would not need to purchase the Entertainment Book.

You would love the S/D!!!
