We will be staying offsite. Daughter and I want to go to the parks, my husband and son want to do things offsite. Can they drop us off at one of the resorts and us use the bus system to get to parks?

Anybody can use the Disney transportation system (bus, monorail, boats) no matter where they are staying.

Disney transportation is for "All Disney guests" . so yes you will be fine.
It doesnt matter if you are staying at a Disney resort, visiting a park, dining at a restaurant or just doing some shopping........you are still a disney guest.
So use that WDW transportation as much as you want.

Yes but you don't have to be dropped off at a resort. But at a park except for the mk you can be dropped off at the contemporary and walk.

If he drops us at a park would we not have to pay parking?

This is where the problem lies. You are entitled to use Disney transportation but it is not allowed to park at a resort unless you are a guest of the resort.
They can drop you off, but not park at a resort.
It will be much easier to have them just drop you off at the park of your choice. I dont believe there is a parking fee for that.

Good luck,

I just realized I may have jumped the gun,lol. ;) . Sorry.

You may or not be able to be dropped off at a resort. It depends on how busy it is and if the security guard at the front gate will let you through.

It would be easier to just get dropped off at the park of your choice ........ I dont belive there is a charge for drop offs only parking.

I think there is a drop off point somehwere around the handicapped parking at the TTC, just before the Poly resort that should take you right to the monorail to the MK.

If you are going to a park you can be dropped off without paying parking. You pull up to the parking booth and tell the CM that you are being dropped off and they will tell you exactly where to go.

For the MK it is off to the right of the parking booth area so head to one of the far right booths...they will then drop you at the TTC where you can take the ferry or monorail.

For the MK you could also be dropped near the Contemporary but sometimes there is a back up of traffic there and it's not super easy to turn around so I would just suggest you go with the TTC back up.

The other parks all have drop off areas as well.

You can be dropped at a resort and I am sure you would have no trouble being dropped there (there is no fee) but it would add to your transportation time.

I would under all circumstances avoid being dropped off at DTD as there are no direct buses to the parks and your transportation choices and times would be much more involved/longer.

Have him drop you off at DTD.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

Why? There are no buses to the parks from there. There is no good reason to be dropped off at DTD unless you are going there.
You can usually get dropped at a resort. There could be a few times of year that the guards won't allow that, but they are few and far between.
