Can you use all Counter Services and not us Table services?

When I was in WDW last summer during free dining, they were offering 1 CS credit + some other incentive in exchange for 1 TS credit. I think it was b/c the TS restaurants were booked to capacity and people were complaining that they couldn't use their credits. So, it may not be the case year-round. You may want to try posting on the Dining Plan Subforum of the Restaurant Board. People with more recent experience will be able to give you a definative answer.

I think if you wanted to they would let you. They are the ones that would be making out on the deal. Having said that why would you want to use a TS credit to get a less expensive meal. If eating counterservice is all you want to do, I wouldn't use the dining plan at all. Unless your getting it for free.

On one of our trips, we were on a tight budget and ate at the food court and fast food for all meals. We didn't spend a lot at all. The CS meals are very inexpensive.

Correct, and that offer is not being offered at this time.

There is a bit more about this in the Dining Plan FAQ:

Here's the relevant part, but you might want to read the whole thing if you want to know more about the Dining Plan.

Can I use TS credits for CS meals?
No. During the last free dining promotion, Disney did extend an offer to use TS credits for CS meals (plus two snacks and a cheap lanyard), but that offer has expired. Prior to that offer, some (but not all) hotel front desks allowed some (but not all) guests to convert some of their remaining TS credits in the CS credits, with the understanding that once converted they cannot be converted back. However, that is not an official part of the Dining Plan, and so you may or may not be successful in getting them to do that for you.

Can I use two (or three) CS credits for a TS meal?
No. There is no way to combine CS credits to "pay for" a TS meal.

Can I exchange CS credits for snacks?
No. However, some eateries which support both CS and snack credits will allow you to use one CS credit for two or three snacks. That's not a standard thing, though, and it isn't necessarily consistent either.

As hard as I tried to keep everything straight with CS and TS, it still got mixed up in the end. We ended up with one extra TS and used it the last day for CS. I think what got confusing was that while the TS is split into adult and kids, the CS is all lumped together (my kids would probably have preferred some of the adult meals vs. kids meals but I felt that since we didn't pay for 5 adult meal plans, we should use what we paid for). I should have just kept all the CS counted together instead of separating out into adult and kids.

Just to be clear, while CS credits are accounted for together in the information systems, guests aren't allowed to order adult meals with child meal entitlements. From the Dining Plan brochure:

Yes I know that. That's why it didn't make sense to me that all the CS are lumped together. And again, as I said, we did not use any adult CS meals for kids - I am sure there are people that do it because it is not separated into adult and kids, but I would not feel right using something I did not pay for.

The only reason they are is that it would cost too much to update the POS systems to separate them -- more than the cost of the abuse for the small number of transgressors there are at this time. Of course, that could change....

Super! :thumbsup2 (I was just clarifying in case someone was confused by the quoted text.)

I got a piece of paper from my TA that states "As a special offer during your stay, if you choose to dine in any Quick Service locations using your Table Service entitlements, you will receive a certificate redeemable for your choice of one of the following: two (2) snacks, a collectible Disney Trading Pin and lanyard (pin design may vary), or a "Where the Magic Lives" poster featuring Mickey and his friends. Before you order, advise the cashier you would like to use a Table Service entitlement for your Quick Service meal." It also says subject to change without notice on the bottom. Hope this helps.

Did you get this for your upcoming trip?

Which TA was that. I wonder if some rogue TA is putting out last year's notice.

Has anyone gotten this directly from Disney (for THIS year)?

I agree with bicker. You REALLY need to reconfirm this with your Disney Travel Specialist. The information on that piece of paper sounds exactly like the very temporary offer adjustment made during most of last year's Free Dining Promotion period.

I guess that is why it says subject to change without notice. There are some other nice tips on the paper as well that maybe my TA wanted me to know. I bet if you go during free dining like I am this year you will be able to use your TS for CS. I already have all of my ADR's though so I will be all set. I am interested to see how packed the restaurants will be as this is my first time going with the free dining.
