Can You Use a PIN on a Gift Vacation?

We own a restaurant and want to reward our very hard working General Manager by sending him & his family to WDW. We want to pay for everything (room, flights, meals). I happened to receive a PIN in an email and it says non-transferable. We will be paying for the trip but not actually going.

Curious if anyone knows if it is allowed. I suppose I can have DH call and ask!

PS: The GM would love to take his family of five kids to WDW and if we gave him a cash bonus vs paying for the trip, he probably wouldn't go on the trip. I think he wants to be "forced" to take a vacation!

I'm pretty sure that the person who receives a pin has to book the room in their name and be present at check in. (I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong about this) What dates were you planning for, and what are the ages of his children? I'm asking because there's a Disney Visa offer for kids ages 3-9 which includes free quick service dining and park tickets for vacations of 4 nights/5 days, for stays from March 14 - August 14.

If they are a family of 7, I would assume they'd need a villa? Maybe you could get a good deal by renting points from A DVC member. You could rent them in your employees name- but pay for it yourself.

With a PIN you can book up to 3 rooms but must be travelling with the others. I don't know of any exceptions to that. Are there any GP specials when you want to book the trip?
