Can you use a Napster giftcard with the IPhone?

Okay, do you see where it says devices? There should be a little arrow there, try clicking that. Does it show up now?

I'm going to go open up my itunes to see if I can help further. Back in a sec...

It should be between itunes store and Genius (which is above play lists.) Do you have the player plugged in via USB cable?

Shared, then beneath that it says Home Sharing. Maybe I did not add the device name when I first registered. Can I go back and do that now?

Yes you can name it now. But you should still see some kind of player. Can you see it on your computer? (under my computer you should see C drive, D drive and then the name of your device. Wonder why you are seeing Home Sharing...

Looking at my itunes it doesn't sound like your device is connecting. Try unplugging it and plugging it in again.

but not Device section comes up. Oh well, I have taken too much of your time already. I think it might be this cheap player I have. Thanks anyway and have a great evening.

I don't mind helping at all but if you're done I understand, it can be frustrating. Can you see it on your computer? Go to Start>My Computer and it should show up there.

DC I googled MP3 player compatibility w/itunes and because itunes music is protected not many players are compatible any more. This is where the burning to CD/re-ripping comes in so can get your tunes to another source. Unfortunately I'm not 100% sure how to do that. Like mentioned previously I don't buy music from itunes because they are so proprietary. Someone is out there that can help you I'm sure.

Yes, I see it when I go to my computer. I think you are right, I believe it is a compatibility issue. Again, thank you so much for your help. At least when we hook up the Iphone, we will know what to do.

You are very welcome.:goodvibes

I did go and look up how to get your songs to the player. If you want me to walk you through it let me know, it's actually simpler then I thought.

The iphone is a little different as you can't drag and drop your lists to it but have to sync it. Fairly simple though. If you need any help don't hesitate to ask.

you do NOT have to burn a CD to transfer music from an mp3 or .wma file into iTunes.

If you have files in Windows Media Player that you want to put on an iPod or iPhone, you will need to convert the files to the iTunes format. it's really really easy.

In iTunes - in the drop down menus - look for "import file" or "import folder". click on it. Select the windows media file or folder (albums) you want to add. It will say that it needs to convert to the .aac format that iTunes uses. click "yes" and wait a couple minutes. done.

I rip all my cd's into Windows Media - and then import the file into iTunes. This way we are covered for both iPods and DH's droid.

I'm pretty sure that's now understood, lol. I think there was confusion on what was a format and what was a program, kwim? BC seems like she has it now though.:thumbsup2
