Can you use a coupon on Emerald Res?

I vaguely remember seeing someone say (months ago) that you could not use a coupon without going to the counter? Is this right?

Has anyone been able to hand over their coupon to the parking attendant instead?

it all depends on what coupon you are using....

the $$$ off coupon can be handed to the booth attendant....

but i think the upgrade coupons require a stop at the counter

You can't use a car UPGRADE coupon without going to the counter first.

If you have a money off or free day coupon, you can enter it into the on line site, and ,when you pick up your car, just present the coupon to the attendant at the booth.

I've used Emerald Reserve in October and December and both times I used the $20 entertainment coupons. No problem. Both were collected when I drove to the kiosk. I've been using emeral reserve the last 2 visits because I wanted a full size car and my July trip I arrived to an empty EA lane and had an intermediate car asigned to me. Before that I had always had good choices in the EA to choose from.

I believe, like the other posters, that you do have to visit the counter if the coupon is an upgrade coupon.

Haven't been to the counter in at least three years, renting at least 3X a year, using the EA with a coupon, usually from the Entertainment Club discount book or web site. Never had a problem.
