re the AAA tix, i have 1 left from stash that i bought in '08 and 2 from '09 for...ahem...approx $70 each
i've called U directly (a few times

) and was told the problem with the AAA tix is that the specific multi-day, 7 day, both park tix is no longer sold (yes there are similar tix, but it's not the 'exact' same tix) so it clouds the picture re upgrades.
U confirmed that the tixs would be honored for admission 'whenever', but refused to indicate the current upgrade value. They have no system in place akin to WDW's where you can call/fax copies of tix to verify the current value/days remaining on a MYW tix.
I was told that the only way to determine what their trade value is would be to bring them to the gate and then they would look them up & determine their value. I was told that I could upgrade them to an AP renewal vs the ticketmaster type i referenced earlier. As mac suggested, it would be swell (as disney permits such as with discounted tix purchased thru
UT, etc.) to be able to use them once and then upgrade later in the stay for current 7 day tix value...might be the best route to try!
btw, upgrading them probably falls under the courtesy accommodation category, if you read the fine print on the back of the tix.
I have kept the sales receipts of the AAA tix (as I would for any tix purchases outside the parks) but am very interested to hear from those who visit before me (this October) what assigned trade actually is.
