Can you upgrade Park hopping 3 day tickets

to annual passes after you get to WDW?

We are planning our trip in October. I have the hotel, dining and Halloween tickets already purchased. Through my dh's company we can get 20% off a 3 or 4 day park hopping pass but we're wondering if we can upgrade to an Annual Pass after we arrive?

if so when is the best day to upgrade the tickets and why?

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago and people told me that you can upgrade your tickets at the parks. I am thinking about converting my 8 day pass into an AP during my trip in October. I don't think that it matters when you do it during your 3 days at the park. Does anyone have an opinion on this? Does it make sense to do it at the beginning of your trip if you want to get the DDE card?

You can upgrade most MYW tickets (assuming that they are not some sort of specialty tickets) to annual passes.

The best time to upgrade is the morning of your first park day, so that you will have an AP for your entire trip. Passholders get discounts at some restaurant and on some merchandise at Downtown Disney, as well as Pleasure Island and DisneyQuest tickets and backstage tours, so why not take full advantage of these discounts for your whole trip?

If you wait and do the upgrade later, your AP will be backdated to the first day you used the MYW pass anyway.

Our tickets are regular Disney park hopper passes but they are discounted by 20% from my dh's company I am assuming that will not make a difference though.
