Can you upgrade BRP within the 60 days?

I've seen this question posted recently but cannot find the thread. Has anyone been able to add-on days or up-grade using the BRP after they were within 60 days of their trip? How about simply switching resorts in a similar price range.

I am not sure about adding on days, but if you wanted to upgrade your resort, that I thought they were allowing...

I thought up-grading was allowed, but I haven't seen any posts of anyone doing this.

Its funny, I have the same question about adding on days and was going to post the question when I came across this thread.

I have BRP reservations for December and want to add an additional day. I haven't been able to find a way to do that online. Does anyone know if I can call the regular Disney reservation phone number or is there another number I should call?

Thanks so much!

I called Friday to inquire about adding days onto my BRP ressie over Thanksgiving. She checked to see if it was available and it was. She told me that I could add the days onto my ressie with the same discounted rate. I didn't wind up doing it, though. It was going to coincide with my daughter's chorus concert. :guilty: Anyway, I think that is the answer to your question, it can be done if it is available. I was told to call the regular number between 2 and 5 pm 7 days a week to make the change.

I've done almost everything you can. LOL. I've upgraded from CR garden room to the tower then changed my mind and moved it to the GF then changed my mind. Moved back to the CR garden view room and at the same time added a second room there. That's where we're staying. DH won't let me change it again.

You can modify as long as the dates are more than 60 days from the date that you booked the res.

I'm going mid-December and have changed mine twice this week- once I upgraded to a more expensive resort and a day later, I changed back to my original choice. Both times I got the BRP discount rate. So, while you have to make your original reservations w/in 60 days, it seems you can change it within that window. Good Luck.

That is not true. I made multiple changes at about 30 days out.

I just modified my Thanksgiving reservation from 2 nights CR to 4 at the GF with the AP rate. It is only about 2 1/2 weeks away. They let me do it easily. I also asked what if I cut the GF down from 4 nights to 2, and was told it was no problem.

I am bumming, though, because the CM quoted me $1462 for 4 nights in the GF main building concierge ( I know - too good to be true!) and it was!!!! :earboy2: I kept questioning him and he assured me it was main building concierge for that rate. I was soooo excited!!! They are having major computer issues and when the computer came back, the price was almost doubled! :guilty: That is the true price. I felt like I had won the lottery with that first rate! Now it isn't such a great deal at all. Only about $75 off a night.

Actually it is true, as you've mentioned. Key phrase is "60 days from the date you booked the res." You can modify the dates on a reservation as long as the new dates are 60 days or more from your booking date, which is probably what you did.

Example: You book a BRP res today for January 30.
You call to modify it to arrival January 29th. Fine.
You call to modify it to arrival January 1st. No go...January 1st is less than 60 days from today, the day that you booked. The call to modify can be anytime between now and check in and it makes no difference.

I know it's confusing, but it really isn't that different than the old way other than the 60 day rule and the $50 change fee if the reservation price drops as a result of the change.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question. I took a look at the email confirmation I received following booking the BRP rate online and found a phone number listed on it for questions. That number turned out to be Disney Travel. I was able to extend my December reservation without an issue - there was still availability at the Grand Floridian. So DH and I are going for an extra long weekend in December!!

I would have prefered to go through 407-W-Disney instead because the hold music gets you in the mood whereas Disney Travel doesn't use any Disney music. Plus they weren't as knowledgeable, but I got the additional day and I'm happy.

Thanks again!
