Can you upgrade a 1 day MYW ticket bought to qualify for the DDP to a PAP?

Yes, you can. You'll just pay the difference in cost of the two tickets.

So, I am buying an 8 day park hopper so I can get my dining plan. Can I then upgrade to the AP? UM.... and I thought I was going to have to pass on the AP this year. Whatcha think???

Current standard (MYW) tickets have the "14 days to change your mind and upgrade" feature. When upgrading a used ticket to an annual pass the start date is the date of first usage of the ticket you turn in.

Non standard (promotional, raincheck, hurricane, convention, timeshare) tickets are generally not upgradable. Also pre-2005 tickets are no longer upgradable.
